The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) advises the
Government on matters relating to Higher Education in the State. The Council
also works for the development of education in the State with perspective
planning.
The main functions of the Council are:

Prepare and monitor consolidated programmes for development of Higher Education
in the State in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants
Commission

Encourage interaction of educational institutions with industry and other
related establishments

Work to enhance quality of examinations conducted by the Universities and
suggest necessary reforms

Conduct entrance examinations for admission to institutions of higher education
and render advice on admissions.

Promote sports, games, physical education and cultural activities in
universities and colleges

Prepare a report on the working of the universities and the colleges in State,
and so on
