The Directorate of Factories is set up for the development of
factories in the State and also to ensure the welfare of workers.
The main objectives of the Directorate are:

Ensure safety, health and welfare of workers employed in
registered factories in the State
-
Manage safety of public residing in the vicinity of major
accident prone/hazardous factories
-
Conduct safety surveys in the accident prone factories and
ensure safety of plant, machinery and materials in factories
-
Offer advice and guidance to the managements to prevent
occurrence of accidents
-
Offer advice for management of factories, and more
