Trade Promotion ( Projects):
APTPC has planned to develop world-class venues with
state-of-the-art facilities for International/ National exhibitions,
conferences, trade shows and corporate events in different cities of Andhra
Pradesh, India. It is also planning to develop Logistic hubs and Free trade
ware housing zones( FTWZ) in the near future. Cities like Hyderabad,
Visakapatnam, Vijayawada, Kadapah, Tirupati, Nellore, Guntur, Kakinada,
Warangal, Karimnagar, Rajahmundry will be covered with these facilities. APTPC
plans to develop comprehensive trade promotion facilities manned by
professionals, and offer services of high standards to members of trade and
commerce.
Logistics:
The Logistic Hub projects will focus on specialised warehousing and will provide
trans-loading facilities to inbound trucks in Hyderabad. The hub will also
provide integrated facilities and services for all activities related to
logistics such as wholesale and retail trading, truck parking, trans-loading
operations and ancillary facilities like residential, repair and maintenance,
and shops.
Paper Products:
Lepakshi Nandi Note books have become synonymous quality note books at
affordable prices and is the most popular brand of note books among the
students. It is a brand leader in it’s category. Lepakshi Nandi note books are
manufactured under ISO norms and TUV quality parameters and are known for
enduring quality and trust among customers.
Insurance:
The Corporation has been accredited by IRDA to act as Corporate Agent in the
Insurance sector for a period of three years. Accordingly, a MOU has been
entered into with M/S United India Insurance Co., Limited (UIIC). APTPC sells
insurance policies to Engineering students to enable them have uninterrupted
education for the 4 years study of Engineering. APTPC proposes to provide more
insurance coverage to the disadvantaged sections of the society by popularising
useful insurance Products.
APSTC was set up during the socialist era in 1970 when the government had taken
up the onerous responsibility of enhancing trade and commerce directly. Over a
period of 40 years, it is credited with boosting the export and import business
in the state.
However, since the beginning of the present decade it saw a steep decline in its
fortunes. Sensing the need for change, APSTC had hired the consultancy services
of IIM-Bangalore last year. The recommendations of IIM were fully accepted by
the government and since the beginning of 2007 the corporation has been in
reform mode. It has restructured it asset base and manpower, closed unviable
branches and units beside and units besides fundamentally altering its
character.
