Budget for REGP (2007-08)
An amount of Rs.2200.00 lakhs is meant for 1928 beneficiaries towards margin money covering a total investment of Rs.9350.00 lakhs to undertake developmental activities and for creating employment for 36,690 persons covering all the 22 rural districts of Andhra Pradesh.
The salient features of the present scheme, namely
Rural Employment Generation Programme
- The industry shall be established in a Village.
- The industry must be a Village Industry.
- For every Rs.50,000/- capital investment one employment shall be generated.
- The Entrepreneur/beneficiary shall have availed loan from any Bank and shall apply for subsidy with in 15 days after release of 1 st installment of Bank Loan.
- The Project cost shall not exceed Rs.25.00 lakhs.
- Negative Industrial activities that are prohibited as per the policy of KVIC such as meat, Alcohol, Tobacco and Polythene bags (that are pollutants) are not eligible under the scheme.
- The assistance by the Board is sanctioned initially in the form of Margin Money loan and converted into Subsidy only after successful functioning of the unit for at least two years.
