INTRODUCTION

MISSION MOTTO

To provide reception and hospitality to State Guests in courteously and cost effective manner, in such a way that it enhances the reputation and image of the State.

EVALUATION OF THE DEPARTMENT :

This department was in existence even from the erstwhile Hyderabad State i.e., during the period of His Excellency, The Nizam to meet the catering needs of the Royal Family. During that period the Department was called "FARRASH KHANA AMIRA"( The word Amira is taken from the Persian language which means 'Umra' means Nawab or the King). In the year 1954 it was renamed as "GOVERNMENT HOUSE DEPARTMENT". Again the Department's nomenclature was changed as "DEPARTMENT OF PROTOCOL" in December 1996 to reflect the duties and responsibilities of the Department. (Under the control of General Administration Department). In the year 1997 the subject of State Aviation Wing (State Helicopter wing) was also transferred to this department.

ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
  • Reception and See-off of visiting VVIP's /VIP's/Other dignitaries.

  • Maintenance of Guest Houses.

  • Catering arrangements at Jubilee Hall, Secretariat, Assembly and Guest Houses, Chief Minister Office, Chief Minister's Residence.

  • Arrangements of Transport to VVIP's and other Dignitaries

  • Arrangements for State Functions

  • Arrangements for State Funerals

  • Maintenance of Furniture Stores for Furnishing to the residence of Hon'ble Ministers

  • Arrangements at Rastrapathi Nilayam.

  • Maintenance of State Aviation wing.
