Objectives:

Ensuring settlement of Telugu film industry on firm footing in the State of
Andhra
Pradesh
through sustained growth.

To provide necessary climate for the Telugu film industry to thrive in its
native land.

To foster for settling up of business units of Cinematograph Trade and industry
including setting up of infrastructural units.

To consider sanction and release of financial assistance for setting up of
infrastructural units and exhibition theatres wherever necessary by providing
financial support.

To encourage, establish and maintain institutions for imparting knowledge
connected and allied to Cinema, Television etc.

To encourage growth of Theatre arts in the State of

Conceptualise exploitation of talent for growth of Cinema, Television and

LOANS
TO CINEMA HALLS:
The Corporation has sanctioned term loans
·
For construction of Semi-permanent and Permanent theatres in Rural and
Semi-urban areas.
·
For construction of semi-permanent and Permanent theatres in identified
backward mandal headquarters.
·
Financial assistance for the theatres damaged due to riots in the year 1988 and
·
To the theatres in the coastal districts, due to damage in the cyclone in
November, 1996.

ALLOTMENT
OF LAND TO FDC:
·
The Government have transferred land to an extent of 35.482 acres in Sy.No.
403, Shaikpet Village, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad to the Corporation for
allotment of land to various private entrepreneurs and agencies for setting up
various infrastructural units and housing facilities for the low paid
technicians of the film industry and
proposed to take up construction of housing to cine workers in 12 acres of land
earmarked and film complex in the
10 acres of land which was allotted to Children’s Film Society, India, Mumbai
earlier
for construction children film complex through A.P. Industrial Infrastructure
Corporation with public private participation.
PRODUCTION
OF DOCUMENTARIES AND NEWSREELS:
·
The Corporation produces documentaries and news reels on behalf of Government.
·
The Corporation has full-fledged production unit
consisting of Arriflex camera and editing, recording equipments which
can be utilised for production of documentaries and newsreels.
The services of technicians should be utilised fully to meet needs of
production of documentaries and newsreels on different welfare schemes of
Government.
·
The documentary and newsreels will be released through the authorized
distributors of the Corporation and District Public Relations Officers of
Information and Public Relations Department.

ISSUE
OF NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE AND SUPPLY OF APPROVED FILMS TO CINEMA THEATRES
·
The Government authorized the Corporation to supply approved films/
newsreels/documentary films to the cinema halls on par with Films Division by
entering into an agreement with
the exhibitors and issue of “No Objection Certificate”
to the Cinema Theatres for the purpose of obtaining license for renewal
of license from time to time. As on 31.3.2007, the Corporation has issued 395
No Objection Certificates to
cinema theatre in various districts in the State.
PREPARATION
AND SUPPLY OF PRE-RECORDED AUDIO CASSETTES ON GOVERNMENT PROGRAMMES TO
INFORMATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT.

In addition to the other publicity
material for Rajeev Palle Bata and
Rajeev Nagara Bata programmes and other welfare schemes and
on the directions of Information & Public Relations
Department, this Corporation undertaken the works like recording of
songs and supply of pre-recorded
audio cassettes.
INCENTIVES
FOR CHILDREN FILMS PRODUCED IN THE STATE.
·
As part of encouragement to producers of children film in State the Corporation
is offering incentives as sanctioned by the Government from time to time.
·
Cash subsidy of Rs.5.00 lakhs per Telugu children film made in state payable
directly to laboratory towards making of release prints.
·
Cash subsidy to Rs. 15.00 lakhs per Telugu Children Film made in State
Payable directly to film producers, after release of the film.
·
Extension of payment of cash subsidy of Rs.15.00 lakhs if adjudged as Good film
by a Committee constituted by the Government.
·
Free shooting permission to children film producers for conducting film
shooting in public places viz.
Parks, roads, etc.
INCENTIVES
FOR FEATURE FILMS PRODUCED IN THE STATE.
CONCESSION
IN ENTERTAINMENT TAX.
·
The
Telugu Feature films produced in the state
are offered concession of 7% for Low Budget Telugu Films and 15% for High
Budget films in Entertainment Tax
subject to fulfillment of conditions as stipulated by the Corporation.
·
As on 31.03.2007, Low Budget film ET Concession certificates
of 486 and High budget
film ET concession certificates of 580 were issued by the Corporation
under different schemes. The total number of Entertainment Tax Concession
Certificates from 1.4.1990 to 31.03.2007 issued is 1,066.
PAYMENT
OF CASH SUBSIDY;
·
The Low Budget Good Telugu Feature Films produced in the State are offered
Rs.10.00 lakhs per film as Cash subsidy if adjudged as Good Film by the
Committee constituted by the Government for the purpose.(maximum 2 films per
year)
·
As on date 31.03.2007, an amount of Rs.20.36 crores have been released towards
cash subsidy for 688 feature films including
cash subsidy of Rs.99.95 lakhs released to Children Films.
ISSUE
OF SHOOTING PERMISSION TO FILM
PRODUCERS
·
Issue of shooting permission by the Corporation for conducting shooting in
Public places viz; Parks, Roads
etc. on charging a nominal
charges of Rs.500/- per day per location.
·
The Film producers are permitted to conduct
shooting outside
State
of Andhra Pradesh and include a maximum length of 30% of such length of film in
edited length ( Censored length).
FILM
FESTIVALS
·
As a part of the functions, the Corporation organised the Film Festivals in the
State and outside State for benefit of Telugu
Film Loving people. The Telugu
films procured by the Corporation from the Film Archives and also other
different film makers are screened during the film festivals.
The festivals outside
State are organised in collaboration with Local Film Societies and
Telugu Film Societies.

The Film Festivals consisting of films produced by different countries are also
organised with the support of the Government and Directorate of Film Festivals,
New
Delhi
.
·
The Corporation has successfully organised two International
Film Festivals during 1986 and 1999 respectively.
·
French Film Festival and Indian Panorama Film Festival were organised in the
twin cities.
·
Once in every two years International Children Film Festival is being organised
in the State with the help of the State Government and support of the Children
Film Society,
India
, Mumbai.
·
14th International Children’s Film Festival of India, was organised
during November,2005 in
Hyderabad
. During the Festival
, films made in different languages by different producers representing
different countries are screened.
The Corporation has been conducting these children film festivals since 1995 in
alternative years.
ESTABLISHMENT
OF FILM ARCHIVES.
·
As a part of activity, the Corporation has procured 16 feature films all Award
winning and classic films in Telugu language.
The prints of the films are being utilised for
screening during various film
festivals organised by the Corporation in the State and outside
the State.
SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR STUDENTS
·
The Corporation is granting scholarships @ Rs.10,000/- per student per year for
pursuing courses at Film and TV institute, Pune and Tamilnadu Film Institute,
Chennai. The Corporation has so far released an amount of Rs.2.55 lakhs towards
scholarships from 1991-1992 to 2006-2007.
NANDI
AWARDS:
·
APSFTVTDC, on behalf of State Government is organising Awards for the best in
Films, Artistes & Technicians.
·
Television Awards are also being organised by the Corporation annually.
·
Stage and Theatre Awards are being given every year for the best Mythological,
Social Plays and Play-lets. For
all the awardees, for the above mentioned categories Nandi, Certificate and
Cash awards are being given.

·
APSFTVTDC, on behalf of State Government, is
granting NTR National Film Award
to the eminent personality of Indian Cinema on all
India
basis who have done outstanding contribution to the growth and development of
Indian Cinema, with a cash award of Rs.5.00 lakhs, every year.
