The A. P. Pollution Control Board plays a catalytic role in implementing
environmental policies, regulations and developing frame works to manage both
waste generated as well as natural resources efficiently.
The main functions of the Board are:

Plan a comprehensive program for prevention and control of pollution of streams
and wells in the State

Advise the State Government on matters concerning prevention and control of
water pollution

Review plans, specifications or other data relating to set up of plants for
treatment of water

Formulate, modify or annul effluent standards for sewage and trade effluents
and for monitoring the quality of receiving waters resulting from the discharge
of effluents

Evolve economical and reliable methods for treatment of sewage and trade
effluents

Evolve methods of utilisation of sewage and suitable trade effluents in
agriculture
-
Formulate standards for treatment of sewage and trade effluents to be
discharged into any particular stream, and so on
