ORDER:

In order to propagate rich culturalheritage of Telugu people through out the State it is proposed to conduct important Fairsand Festivals as annual events in all the places of Tourist and Cultural importance in theState.

2. Based on the proposals receivedfrom the Director of culture/Director of Tourism in the letters 1st tp 5thread above Government after careful examination hereby earmarked ten important as"First Level Fairs and Festivals" with an estimated cost of Rs.5.00 lakhs(Rupees five lakhs only) for each festival meeting the funds from the Department ofTourism 8 festivals are categorised as "Second Level Festivals" which will beconducted by the Department of Culture with an estimated cost of Rs.3.00 lakhs (Rupeesthree lakhs only) for each festivals duly meeting the funds by Culture Department.19"th Thrid Level Festivals" are to be conducted by the District TourismPromotion Councils (DTPC) of the respective Districts. The Council will take care of thesefestivals by way of raising resources or by supplementing money from the District TourismPromotion Council of each District. Total allocation from the Government sources shouldnot exceed Rs.2.00 Lakhs (Rupees two lakhs only) for each festival. The dates ofcelebration of third level festivals will be finalised by the Chairman, District TourismPromotion Council of respective Districts. The calender of events of fairs and Festivalformulated are annexed to this order shall be in force for aperiod of 5 years unchanged.

3. Any change in the schedule dateof a Festival will require approval of the Cabinet.

4. The District Collectors concernedfor the third level festivals are directed to inform the date of their festivals to theGovernment.

5. The Director of Tourism andDirector of culture are directed to take immediate action accordingly at their end incollaboration with the respective Chairman of District Tourism Promotion councils.
