ORDER:

 

Whereas, the Commissioner and Director, Municipal Administration in her letter

first read above submitted the proposals for upgradation of  Nellore Municipality as Municipal Corporation since it satisfies  the criteria fixed in the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations (Fixation of Criteria for specification of larger urban areas ) Rules, 1994 issued in G.O.Ms.No. 449, M.A.&UD dated 18.08.1994,

 

2.         And whereas, a notice was issued in the G.O second read above to the Nellore municipality to explain as to why the said Municipality shall not be abolished under section 3-A of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965 as it fulfilled the criteria to specify the area covered under the Nellore Municipality as larger urban area

(Corporation ),

 

3.         And whereas, the Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration in her letter 3rd read above,  stated that in response to the notice the Nellore Municipality in it’s resolution C.R.NO. 590, dt.04.10.2004 has unanimously resolved to upgrade the Nellore Municipality as Municipal Corporation without any objection and also requested to declare the Municipality as Corporation  and to conduct elections as early as possible.

 

4.         Now therefore, the Government , after careful examination of the matter decided to specify the areas covered under the Nellore Municipality as Larger urban area under clause (d) of section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994.

5.         The following notification shall be published in the extraordinary issue of Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 8-10-2004 .

NOTIFICATION

 

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause(d) of section 2 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporation  Act, 1994 (Act No.25 of  1994) the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby specify the areas covered under Nellore Municipality as Larger urban area and Nellore Municipal Corporation shall be deemed to have been constituted under section 3 of the said Act.
