ORDER:

According to the orders issued in G. O. Ms. No. 848, PWD dated 23.06.1971, Municipalities shall be charged a uniform rate of Re. 1/- per 1000 C yards of raw water drawn from Public Works Irrigation sources for purposes of domestic consumption. The question whether the Municipalities which are drawing water from irrigation sources could be exempted from payment of water charges has been examined. The Government have, decided that the Municipalities should not be charged for raw water drawn from irrigation sources. They accordingly direct that the Municipalities which draw water from irrigation sources for drinking purposes be exempted from payment of raw water charges ordered in the G. O. 1^st read above.

This order issues with the concurrence of Finance and Planning (Finance Wing – Expr. HM&MA) Department vide U. O. No. 1755/S(F&P)/82m dated 07.06.1982.
