O R D E R:

The State Government had earlier decided toengage the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited as an Agent of the StateGovernment under rule 75(2) of M.C.Rules, 1960 for exploiting and exploring the Gold andDiamond resources in certain Districts of the State vide Government Orders 1st and 2ndread above. Government of India was requested to accord approval for ratification of thesaid decision, while the objection raised by Government of India was still underexamination, in consultation with Advocate General, provision under rule 75(2) ofM.C.Rules, 1960 under which the State Government had taken a decision was itself withdrawnby Government of India.

In view of the above position, the G.O.Rt.No.380and 381 Industries & Commerce Department, dated:17.5.1996 where the Andhra PradeshMineral Development Corporation Limited was appointed as agent of the State Government toexplore, exploit the Gold and Diamond resources are hereby withdrawn.

Therefore, in the light of the amended ruleposition, the role of Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited will now berestricted to identifying a suitable party for forming a Joint Venture Company forconsideration and recommendation of the State Government further for recommending grant ofPL/ML to Government of India. To this effect an agreement will be entered into between theState Government and Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited(Approved copyof agreement is annexed to this order).

The Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, AndhraPradesh Mineral Development Corporation Limited is requested to take necessary furtheraction.
