ORDER

 

          In the letter read above, the Secretary, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi has stated that the Indian Nursing Council is the national statutory body with an objective of ensuring uniformity of nursing education in the country.  The Secretary, Indian Nursing Council has also stated that the Indian Nursing Council is having the power to prescribe the syllabus for various nursing education programmes. Dr.N.Appa Rao, Executive Member of the Council has raised the issue regarding not allowing the male candidates for G.N.M. or B.Sc. (Nursing) programme in Andhra Pradesh.

 

2.       The Secretary, Indian Nursing Council has clarified that as per the syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council, there is no bar for admitting the male candidates for admission to G.N.M. or B.Sc. (N) programme.

 

3.       Government after examination of the matter have accepted the above Indian Nursing Council regulations.

 

4.       The President, A.P. Nurses and Midwives Council and Director of Medical Education, A.P., Hyderabad, shall take necessary action for implementation of the above orders.
