PROJECT DIRECTOR WOMEN AND CHILD WELFARE DEPARTMENT, ELURU, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE

The Government dismissed Smt. V.Venkata Lakshmi, Women and Child Welfare Department, Eluru, West Godavari Dist. from Govt. service as she was convicted by the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Vijayawada and sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay fine of Rs. 1,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months each, for the offence u/s 7 & 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Earlier Smt. V.Venkata Lakshmi, Project Director, Women and Child Welfare Department, Eluru was trapped by the officials of A.C.B. on 17.1.2004 at her office when she demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from Sri A.Mohana Purushotahama Rao, C/o Veni Kirana General Stores, Chintalapudi village and Mandal, West Godavari district for showing the official favour of issuing the work order and also placing indent for supply of broken wheat to 9 project officers in the district.

SURPRISE CHECK CONDUCTED AT OFFICE OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTOR, MACHERLA OF GUNTUR DIST.

On credible information, on 16.03.2009 at 8 P.M a Surprise Check was conducted on the office of the Motor Vehicle Inspector, Macherla in Guntur District by DSP, ACB Vijayawada Range. It was revealed that Sri D.Venkateswara Rao, MVI, utilized services of three private persons for collecting bribes from people who approached him for official favour like issue of learner’s licenses, fitness certificates and processing applications for driving licenses and vehicle registrations. An amount of Rs. 1,10,365/- that was collected as bribes through the private persons was seized from his office including Rs. 29,500/- from his brief case hidden in his car. This seized amount was five times the actual amount of Rs. 19,255 which is the prescribed fee to be remitted to Government. All concerned records and the excess cash were seized. Enquiry is in progress.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, MACHAPUR (V) MEDIPALLY (M) KARIMNAGAR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Velpuri Mohan Rao, S/o Amrutha Rao, age 57 years, Village Revenue Officer, Machapur (V), Medipally (M), Karimnagar District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at his residence at 12.30 PM on 14.3.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 4,000/- (Rupees Four thousand) as bribe from the complainant for showing official favour i.e. “ to forward the Title Deed of the complainant and to get the signature of Revenue Divisional Officer, Jagtial, Karimnagar district”. Both hand fingers of Sri Velpuri Mohan Rao and the contact portion of the table cloth when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 4,000/-was recovered from the top of the table at the instance of Sri Velpuri Mohan Rao. Sri Velpuri Mohan Rao was arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad on 15.3.2009. Case is under investigation.

PROJECT OFFICER, INTEGRATED CHILD DEVELOPMENT SERVICES RAYADURG, ANANTAPUR DISTRICT IN A.C.B. NET

Smt B.Gowramma, W/o Sri V.Nagaraju, age 57 years, Child Development Project Officer, Integrated Child Development Services, Rayadurg, Anantapur District was caught red handed at her residence, when she demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) as bribe from the complainant, Smt Nayakula Marekka, W/o Sri N.Srinivasulu, age 25 years, D.No. 12-1-102, Kollapurammagudi, Rayadurg, Anantapur district on 13.03.2009 at 1700 Hrs. for doing an official favour of forwarding the “Girl Child Protection Scheme” application of the complainant to the higher authorities. Chemical test conducted on both right and left hand fingers of the A.O. yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs. 3,000/- was recovered from her possession at her instance. During house search of the A.O. an amount of Rs. 6,00,000/- was recovered from the steel almirah in the bed room of the A.O. for which the A.O. explained that the amount pertained to the salary arrears and T.A. of the Anganwadi workers of ICDS Project, Rayadurg. The amount of Rs. 6,00,000/ was taken into custody for further verification with the bank and ICDS authorities. The original “Girl Child Protection Scheme” application of the complainant was recovered from the steel almirah in the office room of the A.O. at the instance of the A.O. The accused officer was arrested and is being produced before the Special Court, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

SENIOR ASSISTANT, OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT MEDICAL & HEALTH OFFICER, VIZIANAGARAM DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE

Smt T.Shanta, Senior Assistant, Office of the District Medical and Health Officer, Vizianagaram district was dismissed from service by the Government, based on the recommendation made by the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings. Earlier the said Senior Assistant was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on 18.10.2002, when she demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 600/- as bribe from the complainant Sri B.Rajasekhar Rao, MPHA (Male) for doing the official favour of handing over the Service Register together with the service regularization proceedings of the complainant. She was placed on her defence before Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings by the Government, as recommended by the Bureau.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, KOTAPALEM VILLAGE, J.R.PURAM MANDAL, SRIKAKULAM DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Yadla Vaikuntam S/o Chinna Appaiah, age 50 years, Village Revenue Officer, Kotapalem Village, Ranasthalam Mandal, Srikakulam District was caught red handed by the ACB officials at his house at Venkatewara Colony, J.R.Puram, Ranasthalam Mandal at 1545 hours on 09.03.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand) as bribe from the Complainant for doing official favour i.e. “ for issuing Land Possession Certificate and Adangal Copy. Right hand fingers of Yadla Vaikuntam and the contact portion of the floor on which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 3,000/- was recovered from the floor at his instance. Sri Yadla Vaikuntam is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Special Judge for Trial of SPE & ACB Cases-cum-III Additional District Court, Visakhapatnam.

MANDAL SURVEYOR CONVICTED IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

The Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad convicted Sri M.Lokanadham, Mandal Surveyor, Office of the M.R.O., Amberpet, Hyderabad and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 1500/- for the offence u/s 7 of P.C.Act, and in default of payment of fine to undergo R.I for a period of one month and further sentenced him to undergo R.I for one year and to pay a fine of Rs. 1500/- for the offence punishable u/s 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of P.C. Act, 1988 and in default, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one month. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, the Surveyor was trapped by the A.C.B. Officials when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 3,000/- from the complainant for doing an official favour of preparing and submitting a favourable survey report to the M.R.O. for onward transmission to Collector for obtaining N.O.C. required for reconstruction of house of complainant.

FOREST SECTION OFFICER CONVICTED IN A.C.B. CASE

The Special Judge for A.C.B. Cases, Visakhapatnam convicted Sri V.V.S.Nageswara Rao, Forest Section Officer, Mediwada Section, Chodavaram Range, Visakhapatnam district and sentenced him to undergo six month rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/- and in default of payment of fine amount to undergo one month simple imprisonment u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Special Judge further sentenced the A.O. to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- and in default of payment of fine amount to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, the above Accused Office was trapped on 20.2.2003 by the officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant as a quarterly mammols to carry out his business in wood without any hindrance and for not booking false cases.

MEDICAL OFFICER, A.P.S.R.T.C. REGIONAL DISPENSARY, ONGOLE PRAKASAM DISTRICT JAILED IN ACB CASE

The Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore convicted Dr. Swarna Naiomi, formerly Medical Officer, A.P.S.R.T.C., Regional Dispensary, Ongole Prakasam District and sentenced her to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- for the offence u/s 7 of the P.C. Act and also sentenced her to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment to pay a fine of Rs. 2000/- for the offence under section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the P.C. Act, 1988. Earlier she was trapped by the ACB officials on 3.1.2003 when she demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 500/- from the complainant for doing official favour of conducting periodical medical examination and issuing fitness certificate.

JUNIOR ASSISTANT OF R.T.A. DEPARTMENT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Hon’ble Addl. Spl. Judge for S.P.E.& ACB Cases, Hyderabad has convicted Sri G.Venkateswarlyu, former Junior Assistant, O/o R.T.O., Nandyal, Kurnool district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1000/- and in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for one month for the offence u/s 7 of P.C. Act 1988 and also to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1000/- and in default to suffer one month simple imprisonment for the offence u/s 13(2) r/w (1) (d) of the P.C.Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Further the Hon’ble Addl. Spl. Judge for S.P.E. & ACB cases, Hyderabad has also convicted A2 Sri J.Bal Obulesu, r/o Jellalla village, Gospadu Mandal, Kurnool district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1000/- and in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for one month for the offence u/s 12 of P.C. Act 1988. Earlier, the Junior Assistant was trapped by the ACB officials on 17.12.2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1,700/- from the complainant at his office through Sri T.Bala Obulesu (a private person engaged by him) for doing the official favour of processing the file relating to issue of permit to the Motor Cab AP21 T 2088 of the complainant.

PENSION AND GRATUITY OF CIVIL ASSISTANT SURGEON WITHHELD PERMANENTLY IN ACB TRAP CASE

Dr. Md. Naseeruddin, former Civil Assistant Surgeon, Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad was awarded punishment of withholding the pension and gratuity in full by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as he was found guilty of misconduct by the Tribunal for Disciplinary Proceedings, Hyderabad. Earlier, the Civil Asst. Surgeon was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on 2.12.2005 when demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs. 500/- from a patient of epilepsy, for doing official favour of issuing medical fitness certificate to him. After examining the report of ACB, Govt. placed the Civil Assistant Surgeon on his defence before the T.D.P., which conducted a detailed enquiry and found him guilty of misconduct.

SRI A.KONDAIAH, SUPDT. GOVT. SPECIAL HOME FOR BOYS, MANGALAM, TIRUPATHI OF CHITTOOR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Aitham Kondaiah, Superintendent, Govt. Special Home for Boys, Mangalam, Tirupathi, Dept. of Juvenile Welfare, Correctional Services and Welfare of Street Children (Ministry of Women & Child Welfare) was caught red handed at his office, when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 14,000/- (Rupees fourteen thousand only) as bribe from the Complainants 1) G.Lakshmipathi, 2) M.Ramana who are working as Supervisors on outsourcing basis, in the said Home (Rs. 7,000/- from each) on 7.3.2009 at 11.00 hours for doing an official favour of not sending any adverse report against them in connection with the escape of juvenile convict Parasuram of Kurnool on 07.02.2009 from the Juvenile home during their duty period. The escaped juvenile was traced on 17.02.2009 by the same Supervisors and was restored to juvenile home. Chemical test conducted on his both hands yielded positive result and tainted amount of Rs. 14,000/- was recovered from his pant left side rear pocket at his instance. The accused will be arrested and produced before the Special Court for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore.

CONVICTION AND SENTENCE IMPOSED BY THE LOWER COURT CONFIRMED BY THE HIGH COURT AGAINST SRI LINGALA TIRUPATHAIAH, FORMER JUNIOR ASSISTANT, O/o REVENUE DIVISIONAL OFFICER, NARSARAOPET, GUNTUR DISTRICT.

The High Court of A.P confirmed the conviction and sentence imposed by the Trial Court on Sri Lingala Tirupathaiah, former Junior Assistant, Office of the Revenue Divisional Officer, Narsaraopet, Guntur district dismissing the criminal appeal filed by him before the High court of A.P. questioning his conviction and sentence imposed by the court of Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada on 21-12-2001. Sri Lingala Tirupataiah, Junior Assistant, Revenue Divisional Officer’s Office Narsaraopet, Guntur district was convicted and sentenced by the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Vijayawada on 21-12-2001 for the offences committed by him under the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988.

SENIOR ASSISTANT OF REGISTRATION DEPT. DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

Sri B.Purushotham Rao, former Senior Assistant/ Temporary Joint – Sub- Registrar, Sangareddy, camp at Patancheru, Medak district has been dismissed from service by the Government following his conviction in a trap case by the Principal Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B.Cases, Hyderabad. Earlier, the Senior Assistant was trapped by A.C.B. Officials on 10.10.2002 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.600/- from the complainant for showing official favour of delivering the registered document. Subsequetly, he handed over the said bribe amount to his agent the second accused Vinay Sagar for safe custody.

LINE INSPECTOR AND LINEMAN, A.P.E.P.D.C.L. CONVICTED IN A.C.B. CASE.

The Special Judge for A.C.B., Cases, Visakhapatnam convicted Sri Y. Rama Raju, Line Inspector and Sri Shaik Razak, Lineman, A.P.E.P.D.C.L., Marripalem, Visakhapatnam and sentenced them to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment of fine, he ordered the A.Os. to undergo three months simple imprisonment for the offence U/s.13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Earlier, the above Accused Officer Sri Y. Rama Raju, Line Inspector and Sri Shaik Razak, Lineman, A.P.E.P.D.C.L., Marripalem, Visakhapatnam were trapped on 19-2-2003 by the Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau when they demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.3,000/- for doing official favour in registering the application for domestic 3 phase electrical service connection to the house of the complainant.

PRINCIPAL A.P.S.R.T.C., ZONAL TRAINING COLLEGE, NELLORE DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri P.Ramavath Venkateshwarlu Naik, S/o. Rama Naik, age 50 years, Principal, A.P.S.R.T.C., Zonal Training College, Kakuturu, Nellore district was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at his office in the late hours of 6.03.2009 when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.3000/- (Rupees Three Thousand ) from the complainant for doing an official favour of returning the original SSC, I.T.I. and Caste Certificates to the complainant. Both hand fingers of Sri P.Ramavath Venkateshwarlu Naik and the inner flap of his left side shirt pocket which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.3000/- was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of Sri P.Ramavath Venkateshwarlu Naik at his instance. Sri P.Ramavath Venkateshwarlu Naik was arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore. Case is under investigation.

ASSISTANT ENGINEER, AP STATE HOUSING BOARD, UNDRAJAVARAM, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT IN A.C.B. NET

On 6-03-2009 at 18.55 hours Sri Yalamanchilli Prasada Rao 46 yrs Assistant Engineer, AP State Housing Board, Undrajavaram, W.G. district was trapped by ACB Officials, Eluru Range at his office when he further demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs.6,000/- from the complainant Sri Basava Venkata Ganesh S/o. Rama Rao 39 yrs Korravarisavaram village Undrajavaram Mandal W.G. district for showing official favour for finalizing the housing bills under Indiramma Pathkam Pertainiing to Smt. K.Naga Lakshmi and S.Diva Krupa residence of Karravarisavaram village Undrajavaram Mandal W.G. district. The chemical test conducted on the both hand fingers of the Accused Officer yielded positive results and tainted currency of Rs.6,000/- was recovered from left side shirt pocket of the wearing shirt of the Accused Officer. The serial numbers of the recovered currency notes were tallied with the numbers noted in the pre trap proceedings.The Accused officer was arrested on 6.03.2009 and will be produced before the Honorable Court of special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases Vijayawada on 7-03-2009.

FOREST RANGE OFFICER, JAGTIAL RANGE AND FOREST SECTION OFFICER, NERELLA SECTION, JAGITIAL RANGE OF KARIMNAGAR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Mittadoddi Venkata Sudheer, (AO-1), S/o. Ramanaiah, age 50 years, Forest Range Officer, Jagitial Range, Karimnagar district and Sri Chandrapalaka Jaya Prakash, (AO-2), S/o. Srinivas, age 44 years, Forest Section Officer, Nerella Section , Jagitial Range, Karimnagar district were caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials in the office chamber of AO-1 on 6-3-2009 when they demanded and accepted Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand ) as bribe from the complainant for doing the official favour of “implementing the orders of the Divisional Forest Officer, Karimnagar- West and un sealing the saw-mill of the complainant”. Both hand fingers of Sri Chandrapalaka Jaya Prakash (AO-2), his left side shirt pocket and right side rear pant pocket which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.5,000/- intended for AO-2 was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of AO-2 and Rs.25,000/- intended for AO-1 was recovered from the right side rear pocket of AO-2’s trousers at his instance. Sri Mittadoddi Venkata Sudheer (AO-1) and Sri Chandrapalaka Jaya Prakash (AO-2) are being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case in under investigation.

JUNIOR ASSISTANT– CUM – RECORD ASSISTANT, O/O, TAHSILDAR, WARGAL MANDAL, MEDAK OF SANGAREDDY IN ACB NET.

Sri Kothuru Shanti Kumar, S/o. Jattappa, age 50 years, Junior Assistant cum - Record Assistant, O/O. Tahsildar, Wargal Mandal, Medak was caught red handed by the A.C.B. Officials at his office at 11.30 AM. On 5-03-2009 when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred) from the complainant for doing an official favour of issuing pahani copies “ to the complainant. Both hand fingers of Sri Kothuru Shanti Kumar and the inner flap of the right side rear pant pocket of Sri Kothuru Shanti Kumar which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.700/- was recovered from the right side rear pant pocket of Sri Kothuru Shanti Kumar at his instance. Sri Kothuru Shanti Kumar is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

PRINCIPAL AND STORE KEEPER OF GOVT. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE CONVICTED IN ACB CASE.

The Hon’ble Spl. Judge for Speedy Trial of Case of Embezzlement of Scholarship Amount in Social Welfare Department, Hyderabad, convicted S/Sri K.Raj Vittal, former Principal of Govt. ITI (Girls) and Sri M.Deva Das former Sr.Asst/Store Keeper and sentenced them to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/- each and in default, to suffer 6 months simple imprisonment, for the offence under section 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.C.Act,1988 r/w 34 IPC. Earlier the above said officials on receipt of the budget to a tune of Rs.22 Lakhs under world Bank Fund, under Plan and non-Plan category purchased items like Computers, Electronic items, Instrument mechanism etc., by splitting their financial limit and at exorbitant rates many times higher than the prevailing market rates and caused pecuniary loss of Rs.4,75,716/- to the Government Ex-chequer and thus pecuniary advantage to them, hence a case was registered and investigated by the Officials of this Anti-Corruption Bureau.

MANDAL PARISHAD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER & SENIOR ASSISTANT OF O/O. M.P.D.O., KAAMREDDY (M), NIZAMABAD DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Smt. Viriyala Rama Devi, (AO-1) W/o. Patanjali age 47 years Mandal Parishad Development Officer, Kamareddy, Nizamabad district demanded an amount of Rs.3000/- (Rupees Three Thousand) from the complainant and Sri Bandari Eswar, S/o. Venkaiah, 48 years, Senior Assistant . O/o Mandal Parishad Development Officer, Kamareddy, Nizamabad district (AO-2) accepted the bribe amount on the instructions of AO-1 at their office at 10.30 AM. On 3-3-2009 for doing an official favour i.e. “to drop action on the charge memo and to issue three months salary “ to the complainant. Both hand fingers of Sri Bandari Eswar, (AO-2) and the ground on which the tainted currency was thrown when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result . Tainted amount of Rs. 3,000/- was recovered from the ground behind the office chamber of the MPDO at his instance. Smt. Viriyala Rama Devi, (AO-1) and Sri Bandari Eswar, (AO-2) are being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

DEPUTY M.R.O. CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Addl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, convicted Sri G.Lalaiah, Dy.M.R.O., Moinabad(M), Ranga Reddy district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.500/- and in default, to suffer one month simple imprisonment, each, for the offences under Section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.C. Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier he was trapped by the officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau on 26.3.2004 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.1,000/- from the complainant, for furnishing extracts of 1A and 1B Forms from the Records relating to the lands of to his wife in Survey No.20 of Nagireddyguda.

EXECUTIVE ENGINEER CONVICTED IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE.

The Principal Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad convicted Sri P.L. Rajeswara Rao, Executive Engineer M.C.H. Circle-II Hyderabad and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.2500/- each for the offence U/s. 7 of P.C. Act, and also 13(1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of P.C.Act,1988 and in default, to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month each. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. The amount of Rs.16,380/- seized from the Executive Engineer on the date of trap was ordered to be confiscated to the State. FORMER, GUNTUR DISTRICT EXCISE INSPECTOR CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Hon’ble Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri Saraswati Srinivasa Raju Formely Prohibition & Excise Inspector, Piduguralla, Guntur district. He sentenced the Accused Officer to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment of fine, he has to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable U/s 7 of the P.C Act 1988 and he was further sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and also to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment of fine to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable under section 13(1) (d), r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988 Both the substantive sentences were ordered to run concurrently.Earlier Sri S.Srinivasa Raju, formerly Prohibition & Excise Inspector Piduguralla was trapped by the ACB officials on 13-04-2004 when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant Sri Jonnalagadda Hariprasad Proprietor of Sri Sai Krishna wines, Karampudi village, Guntur district for doing the official favour of not allowing another shop licensee of a neighboring village, to place their liquor bottles stock in the vicinity of his shop in karampudi village, which was otherwise detrimental to his business and also towards monthly mamools.

POLICE CONSTABLES – 1375 & 934 OF ELAMANCHILI TRAFFIC P.S., VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri M.Nageshwar Rao, age 40 years, police Constable – 1375 (AO-1) and Sri P.Satyanarayana, age 43 years, police Constable –934 (AO-2) both of Elamanchilli Traffic PS, Visakhapatnam district were trapped by the ACB Officials at the police Station at 21.20 hours on 25-02-2009 when they demanded and accepted Rs.18,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Thousand) as bribe through a private person by name Sri Bhima Reddy Naidu for doing official favour of releasing the owner-cum-driver of the Lorry bearing No.AP 27 V 1606 of the complainant. Both hand fingers of Sri Bhima Reddy Naidu and inner lining of right side back pant pocket when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs.18,000/- was recovered from the right side back pant pocket of Sri Bhima Reddy Naidu at his instance.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER/ PART –TME ASSISTANT & AGRICULTURIST/ PART-TIME WORKER OF MIRZAPUR VILLAGE, BIRPUR MANDAL OF NIZAMABAD DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Kommu Murali, (AO-1) S/o. late Kistaiah , age 61 years, Village Revenue Officer/part-Time Assistant of Mirzapur Villag, Birpur Mandal, Nizamabad district and Sri Gunti Srinivas, (A-2), S/o. Gangaiah, age 40 years, Agriculturist/ part-Time worker, Mirzapur Village, Birpur Mandal, Nizamabad district were caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at their residence of AO-1 at Mirzapur Village at 10.00 AM. On 26-2-2009 when AO-1 demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.2,100/- (Rupees Two Thousand One Hundred) from the complainant for doing an official favour of issuing pattadar pass book and Title Deed of the complainant later he handed over the bribe amount to G.Srinivas (A-2) for safe custody. Both hand fingers of Sri Kommu Murali, (AO-1)and Sri Gunti Srinivas,(A-2) and inner flap of the left side shirt pocket of Sri Gunti Srinivas, (A-2) which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.2,100/- was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of Sri Gunti Srinivas, (A-2) at his instance. Sri Kommu Murali, (AO-1) and Sri Gunti Srinivas, (A-2) are being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.Case is under investigation.

DEPUTY EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, RWS, ETURUNAGARAM (V &M), WARANGAL DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Nookala Devender Reddy, S/o late Ramakrishna Reddy, age 47 years, Deputy Executive Engineer, RWS, Eturunagaram, Warangal District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at his residence at Mahabubabad, Warangal District on 25.2.2009 at 5.35 P.M when he demanded and accepted Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour i.e. “in recording the check measurement of submersible pumps supplied by the complainant in the M.Book.” Both hand fingers of Sri Nookala Devender Reddy and the contact portion of the dining table top which came into contact with tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 10,000/- was recovered from the top of the dining table at the instance of Sri Nookala Devender Reddy. Sri Nookala Devender Reddy was arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

MANDAL PARISHAD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER,C.K. DINNE, KADAPA DISTRICT AWARDED PENALTY OF REDUCTION TO THE LOWER POST IN SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri N.C. Penchalaiah, former Mandal Parishad Development Officer, C.K. Dinner, Kadapa district was awarded penalty of reduction to a lower post by the Government on 07-02-2009 following an enquiry by the Tribunal for Disciplinary Produceedings in A.C.B. trap case. Earlier the M.P.D.O. was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on 18.07.2002 when he demanded and accepted bribe amount of Rs.1,800/- from the complainant for doing an official favour of issuing cheques to the 18 beneficiaries of Road Krishnapuram village pertaining to subsidy granted by the Government for the construction of individual latrines in Rural Sanitation Scheme under Janmabhoomi Programme.

SENIOR ASSISTANT- I/C, MANDAL REVENUE INSPECTOR & ATTENDER OF OFFICE OF THE TAHSILDAR, MACHAREDDY (V) & (M), NIZAMABAD DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Arla Shyam Rao, (AO-1) S/o. Madhava Rao, age 55 years, Senior Assistant, I/c. Mandal Revenue Inspector, O/o. Tahsildar, Machareddy (V) & (M), Nizamabad district and Sri Bandameedi Lingam (A-2), S/o Pochaiah, Age 34 years, Attender, O/o. Tahsildar, Machareddy (V) & (M) Nizamabad district were caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at their office at 02.15 P.M. on 24.2.2009 when AO-1 demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred) as bribe from the complainant through (A-2) for doing an official favour of sending enquiry report to the Tahsildar for issue of pattadar pass book and Title Deed of the complainant. Both hand fingers and inner flap of the left side pant pocket of Sri Bandameedi Lingam (A-2) which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.1,500/- was recovered from the left side pant pocket of Sri Bandameedi Lingam (A-2) at his instance. Sri Arla Shyam Rao (AO-1) and Sri Bandameedi Lingam (A-2) are being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE &ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS WORTH OVER Rs.30 LAKHS BELONGING TO SRI BATTU RAMANA, EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, RWS, PARGI DIVISION, R.R. DISTRICT.

Simultaneous Searches were conducted by ACB officials over the residence of Sri Battu Ramana, S/o. Zintha, age 45 years, Executive Engineer, RWS, Pargi Division, R.R. district on 20-02-2009 at Hyderabad, Khammam, Kodad and Pargi. Searches resulted in unearthing assets worth over Rs.30,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Lakhs Only). The total assets include 1 (One) Flat in Hyderabad, 1 (One) House at Kodad - 7 (Seven) acres of agricultural land at kodad, 2 vehicles Gold worth Rs.1 Lakh, Bank balance worth Rs.5 Lakhs and house hold articles worth Rs.1.5 Lakhs. Case is under investigation.

I.T.I. PRINCIPAL AND SENIOR ASSISTANT PUNISHED IN ACB CASE.

Government of Andhra Pradesh withheld the full of pension and gratuity of Sri D.Sudarshan (Retd) former Principal of Government I.T.I., Kothagudem Khammam permanently and also dismissed Sri P.Mallesh former Senior Assistant of Government I.T.I., Kothagudem, Khammam from the service following their conviction by the Prl.Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad in a misappropriation case. A case was earlier registered by the Bureau against them for criminal misconduct as they split - up the bills so as to bring them within their financial powers and in collusion with suppliers purchased material at exorbitant rates and caused wrongful loss of Rs.13,20,583/- to the Government exchequer and pecuniary advantage to the themselves and others.

PENSIONARY BENEFITS OF SENIOR ASSISTANT WITHHELD IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Government have issued orders withholding of entire pension and gratuity permanently of Sri V.Seshagiri Rao, former Senior Assistant O/o Executive Engineer (Housing), A.P., Housing Board Warangal, following his conviction by the court of Prl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad in a trap case. Earlier, he was trapped by the officials of the ACB on 9-10-2002 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.500/- from a Headmaster for showing the official favour to hand over the possession letter of the house allotted to his sister.

FORMER DISTILERY MANAGER KCP LTD, VUYYUR, KRISHNA DISTRICT AND RETIRED PROHIBITION AND EXCISE SUPERINTENDENT PUNISHED IN ACB CASE.

Sri K.Chenchu Ramaiah, former Distillery Manager, K.C.P., Ltd., Vuyyuru, Krishna district retired Prohibition & Excise Superintendent was punished in ACB case by imposing punishment of 100% cut in pension and gratuity in full following his conviction by the Trial Court. Earlier a case on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets against the above accused officer was registered and investigated into by this Bureau and found that he possessed disproportionate assets to a tune of Rs.36,61,284 -00

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, RAMACHANDRAPURAM (V) VIDAVALURU (M) OF NELLORE DISTRICT IN A.C.B NET

Sri Avala Kistaiah, Village Revenue Officer, Ramachandrapuram (V) Vidavaluru (M) of Nellore district was caught red handed at Subbedarpet, Nellore town on the road when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 2,700/- (Rupees two thousand seven hundred only) as bribe from the complainant Sri Poduru Babu, Fisherman R/o Venkatanarayanapuram (V) on 18.02.2009 at 14.00 Hrs. for doing the official favour of forwarding 9 applications to Dist. Collector for Financial Assistance from the Government as they lost livelihood due to modernization of Krishnapatnam Port. Chemical Test conducted on his both hands, yielded positive results and bribe amount of Rs. 2,700/- was recovered from the shirt pocket of the Sri Avala Kistaiah. He was arrested and will be produced before the ACB Special Court, Nellore.

PANCHAYAT SECRETARY, GRAM PANCHAYAT, K.SAMUDRAM STATION, WARANGAL DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Badavath Venkateswarlu S/o Gopiya, age 35 years, Panchayat Secretary, K.Samudram Station, Warangal District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his office at 1300 Hrs. on 18.02.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 2,500/- (Rupees Two thousand Five hundred) as bribe from the Complainant for doing the official favour of allotting House Number and entering the name of wife of the complainant in Gram Panchayat Records. Both hand fingers of Sri Badavath Venkateswarlu and inner lining of left side shirt pocket yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 2,500/- was recovered from the left side shirt pocket at his instance. Sri Badavath Venkateswarlu will be arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER RS. 3.5 CRORE BELONGING TO SRI DARAM DASHARATHAM, MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTOR, DRIVING TEST TRACK, NAGOLE, R.R.DISTRICT

Simultaneous searches were conducted by ACB Officials over the Residential Houses of Sri Daram Dasharatham, S/o Rajaiah, age 51 years, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Driving Test Track, Nagole, R.R. District on 18.02.2009 at Himayath Nagar, Hyderabad and his relatives’ residence at Nalgonda. Searches resulted in unearthing assets worth over Rupees 3.5 Crores. The total assets include (11) Flats in different places – 2 (Two) at Himayath Nagar, 1 (One) in Secunderabad, 4 (Four) in Somajiguda, 3 (Three) in Begumpet, 1 (One) in Panjagutta, (07) Seven plots in different places – 6 (Six) in Hayath Nagar and 1 (One) in Bowenpally, 31.36 acres of Agricultural land in Harshaguda, Mamidipally villages of Saroornagar and Thipparthy Mandal of Nalgonda district, 1 (One) Shopping Complex in Gaddi Annaram; (3) three vehicles i.e. Indica Car, Ambassador car and Activa Scooty, Promissory Notes W/Rs. 48,00,000/-, (14) Insurance Policies and Bonds W/Rs. 9,75,000/-, Gold weighing 106 Tulas W/Rs. 7,42,000/-, Household articles Worth Rs. 2 Lakhs, Bank balance worth Rs. 7 lakhs in various banks and Net cash of Rs. 2,56,000/-. The market value of the Assets unearthed would be worth over Rs. 10 Crores. Case is under investigation.

SRI MUNIPALLI SATYA DEV, S/O VENKATESWARA RAO, AGE 54 YEARS, ASI, SB, PIDUGURALLA CIRCLE, GUNTUR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

On 17-02-2009 at 2.25 p.m. Sri Munipalli Satya Dev, S/o Venkateswara Rao, age 54 years, ASI, SB, Piduguralla Circle, Guntur district was trapped at Flat form No.20, RTC Bus stand, Guntur by ACB Officials, Vijayawada Range Vijayawada when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs.2,000/- from the complainant Sri Challa Srinivasa Reddy, S/o Venkata Reddy Age 34 years Karalapadu village piduguralla Mandal Guntur district for showing official favour for proceesing the passport application and SB Verification with regard to the passport of the complainant. The chemical test conducted on the both hand fingers of Accused Officer Sri Manipalli Satya Dev, S/o Venkateswara Rao, age 54 years, ASI,SB, Pidugurala Circle, Guntur district yielded positive result . The tainted bribe amount of Rs.2,000/- was recovered from left side shirt pocket of the wearing of AO. The inner flap of shirt pocket of AO subjectd to chemical test and yielded positive result. The serial numbers of recovered tainted currency notes are tallied when compared with the numbers noted in the pre trap proceedings. The Accused Officer was arrested on 17-2-2009 and he is being produced before the Hon’ble Court of Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada on 18.2.2009

A.C.B UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER RS.1.38 CRORES BELONGING TO SRI L. RAJESHSWAR REDDY, SUPERINTENDING ENGINEER (NSLI) IRRGIATION DEPT., NIZAMABAD OF NIZAMABAD DIST.

Simultaneous searches were conducted at various places in Hyderabad Town, Nizamabad, & Adilabad Districts, by A.C.B. officials, over the residential house of Sri L. Rajeshwar Reddy, Superintending Engineer, (NSLI) Irrigation Department of Pranahita - Chevella project, Nizamabad and his office as well as the house of his relatives, on 17-02-2009. Searches resulted in unearthing of immovable assets, including one house site in Nizamabad, 2 Flats in Somajiguda & Lakadi-ka- pool Hyderabad and 4 ½ acres of land at Ravilakol in Mechal, 28 acres land at Dilawaralpur (V), 45 acres in perimandal (V) of Adilabad District all worth Rs. 96.52 Lakhs as per documentary value. The market value of assets would be over Rs.3.50 Crores. Moveable properties worth Rs.39.73 Lakhs, include 9 bank balances in the name of A.O. and his family members containing deposits worth Rs.85,000/-; 1 Kg of Gold worth Rs.4.00 lakhs & 380 gms of Silver articles worth Rs.5,000/-; Cash found at residence is Rs.9.50 lakhs; Insurance premium paid Rs.2.00 Lakhs; House hold articles worth Rs.7.00 Lakhs; Hyundai Verna & Innova Cars worth Rs.7.00. & Rs.11.00 lakhs; Suzuki Samurai Rs.40,000/- were also found. Thus the ACB unearthed total assets to the tune of Rs.1.38 Crores during the searches. Case is under investigation.

PENSION AND GRATUITY OF I.T.I OFFICIALS PERMANENTLY WITHHELD IN ACB CASE

Government of Andhra Pradesh issued orders withholding the pension and gratuity in full of S/Sri Shaik Mahaboob, former Asst. Director, Govt. I.T.I. (Old City), Hyderabad and M.R.Yethi Raju, former Office Superintendent, Govt. I.T.I. Alwal permanently, as they convicted by the Prl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad. Earlier during the course of investigation into a case by ACB, the Accused Officers in pursuance of their common object, committed grave criminal misconduct and purchased tools and equipments beyond their financial limits and powers and at exorbitant rates and caused wrongful loss of Rs. 3,68,242-20 to the Government exchequer and corresponding pecuniary advantage to themselves.

SANITARY INDPECTOR CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Addl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, convicted Sri P.Ramanjul Reddy, formerly Sanitary Inspector, Gaddiannaram Municipality, Ranga Reddy district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.500/- and in default, to suffer one month simple imprisonment, each, for the offences under section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.C. Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier he was trapped by the officials of Anti- Corruption Bureau on 22-9-2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from the complainant, for showing official favour in recommending and getting sanction of drainage connection.

SRI D. LAKSHMI NARAYANA TAHSILDHAR, O.D CHERUVU MANDAL OF ANANTHAPUR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri D.Lakshmi Narayana, Tahasildar, O.D. Cheruvu (M) of Anantapur District was caught red handed at his office when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only ) as bribe from the complainant Sri K.Surya Narayana of Akuthotapalli(V) of O.D. Cheruvu (M) on 12-02-2009 at 1.10 P.M for doing official favour of issuing the release order pertaining to the subsidized rice and palm oil quota for the month of February, 2009 to the complainant. Chemical Test conducted on the right hand fingers and cotton swab rubbed inside the drawer of A.O’s table in which the tainted amount was kept yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs.1,000/-was recovered at his instance A.O. was arrested and produced before the ACB, Special Court, Hyderabad.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER Rs.1.50 CRORES(RUPEES ONE CRORE FIFTY LAKHS ) BELONGING TO SRI G.S.N.V.ANJANEYA BABU, SECTION OFFICER, GENL.-III, IRRIGATION DEPT. A.P., SECRETARIAT, HYDERABAD.

Simultaneous searches were conducted at 9 places in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam & Kovvali in W.G Dist. by A.C.B. Officials over the residential house and office of Sri G.S.N.V.Anjaneya Babu , Section Officer, Genl-III, Irrigation Dept, A.P., Secretariat, Hyderabad and other houses belonging to his close relatives and friends on 12-02-09. Searches resulted in unearthing of immovable assets including 9 House plots in and around twin cities i.e, in Serelingampally, Medchal, Maheswaram, Shamshabad, Qutbullapur, Rajahmundry, one 3-storeyed residential house at ICRISAT Colony, Venkatagiri,(Jubilee Hills) Hyderabad; 2 houses at Bowenpally & Kukatpally, 2.5 Acres agricultural land in Khammam, all worth about 90.00 lakhs as per Documentary value. Market value of the assets would be approximately 3.00 crores. Moveable properties include 2 Kgs. of silver articles worth Rs.30,000/-; Ascent model car worth Rs.4.00 Lakhs; Hero Honda CBZ & Bajaj Chetak Scooter worth Rs.60,000/-; household articles worth Rs.5.00 Lakhs; F.D.Rs worth Rs.40.43 Lakhs ; shares worth Rs.6.00 lakhs and Dividend warrant worth approximately Rs.4.00 Lakhs, all worth 60.33 lakhs. Thus total assets to the tune of Rs.1.50 Crores were unearthed during the searches. Case is under investigation.

CIRCLE INSPECTOR AND S.I. OF POLICE DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

Sri K.Prabhakar Reddy, formerly Circle Inspector of Police and Sri G.Veeraiah formerly Sub-Inspector of Police, Dubbaka Police Station Medak district have been dismissed from service by the Government following their conviction in a trap case by the Principal Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad. Earlier the said C.I.of Police and S.I. of police were trapped by A.C.B. Officials on 16-5-2002 when they demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000/-and 5,000/- respectively from the complainant for showing official favour to remand the accused person who involved were in a kidnapping case of his daughter. They were chargsheeted in a court of law and convicted by the court

FORMER SPECIAL DY. TAHSILDAR AND AND I/C SUPERINTENDENT OF O/o SPECIAL OFFICER, URBAN LAND CEILING, GUNTUR DISTRICT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Hon’ble Spl. Judge for S.P.E.& ACB Cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri Akunuri Prabhakar Rao, formerly Special Deputy Tahsildar and Sri Jaya Prakash Babu, i/c Superintendent, O/o Special Officer, Urban Land Ceiling, Guntur district and sentenced them to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment of fine to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable U/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988 each. The Spl. Judge further sentenced Sri Akunuri Prabhakar Rao and Sri T.Jaya Prakash Babu, to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and also to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable under section 13(1) (d), r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the substantive sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, Sri Akunuri Prabhakar Rao, formerly Special Deputy Tahsildar and Sri Jaya Prakash Babu ,i/c Superintendent, O/o Special Officer, Urban Land Ceiling, Guntur district were trapped by the ACB officials on 11-12-2003 when they demanded and accepted bribe of Rs.300/- and Rs.1050/- respectively from the complainant Sri Chintapalli Venkata Subba Rao, S/o Venkaiah of Gannavaram Village, Gannavaram Mandal, Krishna district for doing the official favour of issuing the proceedings of the Special Officer, Urban Land Ceiling, Guntur for registration of the land admeasuring 300 Sq. Yard in D.NO.269 of Koritepadu Village belonging to the younger daughter of the complainant.

SUB- INSPECTOR OF POLICE DISMISSED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri K.NARASAPPA, S.I. of Police, Chengomul Police Station, R.R. district was dismissed by the Government in view of his conviction by the Addl.Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/-and in default, to suffer 3 months simple imprisonment each, for the offences under section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.C. Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. SUB-INSPECTOR OF POLICE, HAJEEPUR POLICE STATION, MANCHERIAL MANDAL, ADILABAD DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Mohammed Osman Ali S/o. Late Turab Ali, age 55 years, Sub- Inspector of police, Hajeepur Police Station, Mancherial Mandal, Adilabad District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his office at 10.15 hours on 10.02.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand) as bribe from the Complainant for doing the official favour of closing the case registered against the complainant in Cr.No.78/2008 U/s.447, 323, 294(b), 506 IPC involving Criminal Trespass etc offence. Both hand fingers of Sri Mohammad Osman Ali and the contact portion of the inner side of the table drawer on which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.3,000/- was recovered from the office table drawer at his instance. Sri Mohammed Osman Ali will be arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

MANDAL PARISHAD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER DISMISSED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri V.Venkatesham, former Mandal Parishad Development Officer, Vikarabad Ranga Reddy district was dismissed from service by the Government following his conviction by the Addl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad . The court sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.2000/- and in default to suffer 3 months simple imprisonment each for the offences under Section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of the P.C. Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier the he was trapped by the officials of Anti- Corruption Bureau on 20.02.2004 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant for showing the official favour of handing over cheque for Rs.30,000/-for the HDPE pipes supplied to the complainant’s firm “Arunodaya Corporation” for agricultural purposes to three beneficiaries of S C Corporation.

CENT PERCENT PENSION AND GRATUITY OF CHIEF ENGINEER CUT BY GOVT. IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS CASE.

Government of A.P. issued orders imposing the punishment of withholding entire pension and gratuity permanently against Sri Surendra Bahadur, Chief Engineer (Retd), A.P. Housing Board, Hyderabad as he was found guilty of possessing assets disproportionate to the known sources of his income by the Special Court. The Chief Engineer was convicted and sentenced to under to rigorous imprisonment for 3 years and to pay a fine of Rs.5000/- for the offence punishable u/s13(2) r/w 13(1) (e) of the P.C. Act,1988 for being in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs.2,01,05,181/-, which were ordered to be confiscated to the State, by the Principal Special Jude for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Pursuant to the same the Govt. imposed the punishment of withholding his entire pension and gratuity permanently.

ADDL.PUBLIC PROSECUTOR CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Addl.Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, convicted Sri M.Venkataiah, former Addl. Public Prosecutor of Prl. Asst. Sessions Judge Court, Ranga Reddy district and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default, to suffer 1 month simple imprisonment, each for the offences under Section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.C.Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier he was trapped by the officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau on 3.3.2004 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.1,500/- from the complainant an accused in a criminal case of Alwal Police Station, for showing official favour during trial.

POLICE CONSTABLE CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri D. Venkata Reddy @ Venkanna, P.C. No.1245 formerly of Choutuppal P.S., Nalgonda district was dismissed by the Govt.of A.P, following his conviction by the Addl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad who sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and to pay a fine of Rs.3000/- and in default, to suffer 3 months simple imprisonment, each for the offences under sections 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of the P.C.Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier he was trapped by the officials of Anti- Corruption Bureau on 26.6.2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.2,000/- from the complainant, a lorry owner, for returning the documents of his vehicle.

S.I. OF POLICE DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN A.C.B.TRAP CASE.

Sri C.Giriprasad Babu formerly Sub-Inspector of Police Sankarampet Police Station, Medak district has been dismissed from service by the Government following his conviction in a trap case by the Principal Special Judge for S.P.E.& A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad. Earlier, the said S.I . of Police was trapped by A.C.B. Officials on 13-9-2002 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.3,000/- from the complainant for showing official favour in expediting investigation to file charge sheet and to get insurance benefits to the complainant in an accident case registered by the local police.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, CHERUKAPALLI VILLAGE KETHAPALLY MANDAL, NALGONDA DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Smt S.Renuka W/o. Ashok Reddy, age 28 years, Village Revenue Officer, Cherukapalli Village, Kethapally Mandal, Nalgonda District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at her residence at 11.30 A.M. on 04-02-2009 when she demanded and accepted Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand ) as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour of handing over the pass book pertaining to the Complainant after effecting mutation of the land”. Both hand fingers of Smt S.Renuka and the contact portion of the top of T.V.on which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.5,000/- was recovered from the top of T.V. at her instance. Smt S.Renuka is being arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

SRI C. CHANDRA SEKHAR & S. SOMA SEKHAR, ASST. ENGINEER, A.P.C.P.D.C.L., A.P. TRANSCO, NAGASAMUDRAM GATE, CHINA KOTHAPALLI (M) OF ANANTAPUR DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri S.Soma Sekhar, Asst. Engineer (AO-1), A.P.C.P.D.C.L., A.P. Transco, Nagasamudram Gate, China Kothapalli (M) of Anantapur District was trapped, when he accepted the bribe amount of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only) through C.Chandra Sekhar (A-2), a private person which was demanded by AO-1, from the complainant Sri Thota peda Obelayya S/o late T.Obannaa resident of Basinepalli (V) of China Kothapalli (M) on 04-02-2009 at 10-40 A.M. to accord permission for supply of Electricity to both Bore wells & Distribution power Station (Transformer) of the complainant. Chemical Test conducted on both hands, yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs.2,000/- was recovered from A-2 at his instance. Both AO-1 & A-2 are being arrested and produced before the ACB, Special Court, Hyderabad.

TAHSILDAR, KOYYUR MANDAL, VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Doddi Mahandata, S/o. Venkat Swamy, age 57 years, Tahsildar, Koyyur Mandal, Visakhapatnam district was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his office- cum- residence at 11.50 hours on 04-02-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.1,700/- (Rupees One thousand Seven Hundred) as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour of issuing land possession Certificate required by the complainant for Indiramma Housing Scheme”. Both hand fingers of Sri Doddi Mahandata when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs.1,700/- was recovered from the table drawer at his instance. Sri Doddi Mahandata will be arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Special Judge for Trial of SPE & ACB Cases-Cum- III Additional District Court, Visakhapatnam.

SRI K.SEETHARAMI REDDY, VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, BUDIDAPADU V) GUDUR (M) OF KURNOOL DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri K.Seetharami Reddy, Village Revenue Officer, Budidapadu(V) Gudur (M) of Kurnool District was caught red handed near the office of Dy. Tahasildar, Gudur (M), when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 2,500/- (Rupees two thousand five hundred only) as bribe from the complainant Sri Katikala Ramudu resident of Budidapadu (V) on 03.02.2009 at 2.00 P.M for doing the official favour of processing the application and issuing house site patta in the name of complainant’s wife. Chemical Test conducted on his both hands, yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs. 2,500/- was recovered at his instance. A.O. is arrested and being produced before the Special Court, Hyderabad.

SENIOR ASSISTANT CONVICTED IN A.C.B., TRAP CASE

Sri Y.Gandhi, Senior Assistant, O/o District Panchayat Officer, Khammam is convicted by the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad and is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs.400/- and in default, to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month for the offence under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988. The Special Judge further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.400/- and in default to suffer rigorous imprisonment for one month for the offence under section 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, he was trapped by the officials of the ACB on 30-4-2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.800/- from the complainant for preparing his special disability leave salary from 1-1-2003 to 12-3-2003.

FORMER INSPECTOR OF POLICE, GUDIWADA TOWN, KRISHNA DISTRICT DISMISSED FROM SERVICE FOLLOWING HIS CONVICTION IN ACB CASE.

Government imposed the punishment of dismissalfrom service on Sri S.Satyanarayana, formerly Inspector of Police, Gudiwada Town, Vijayawada, Krishna district and presently working as C.L.I., Amberpet Police Training College, Hyderabad following his conviction in ACB case by the Spl. Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Vijayawada. Earlier, on reliable information, the officials of Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case of possession of disproportionate assets against Sri S.Satyanarayana and after completion of investigation he was charge sheeted before the court and the court convicted him and imposed the punishment of simple imprisonment for a period of 1 year and also to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- and in default of payment of fine amount to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of 6 months, for the offence under section 13(1)(e) r/w 13(2) of the P.C Act,1988. The Special Judge further ordered that the disproportionate assets of Rs.6,22,931-25 ps be confiscated to the State.

ASST. SUB-INSPECTOR OF POLICE, TULLUR POLICE STATION, GUNTUR DISTRICT IN A.C.B. NET

On 31.01.2009 at 5.30 P.M. Sri Maddiraju Nageswara Rao, Asst. Sub-Inspector of Police, Tullur Police Station, Guntur District was successfully trapped by A.C.B. Officials Vijayawada Range, Vijayawada when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs. 1,000/- in the Hotel Ambica AArya Vysya Mess at Main Road, Amaravathi from the Complainant Sri Nallamekala Koteswara Rao, S/o Radhakrishna Murthy, age 45 years, Golusupadu, Peddakorapadu Mandal, Guntur District for showing official favour for supply of F.I.R., Inquest Report, Post Mortum Certificate of his deceased son N.Venkateswara Rao vide Cr. No. 128/04 u/s 304 (A) IPC of Tullur Police Station. The accused officer is arrested and is being produced before the court.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH RS.98,91,120/- BELONGING TO SRI D.SUDHAKAR, EXECUTIVE ENGINEER,G.H.M.C, IX DIVISION, KHAIRATABAD , HYDERABAD

Simultaneous searches were conducted in the residential house and office of Sri D.Sudhakar, Executive Engineer, G.H.M.C., IX Division, Khairatabad, Hyderabad and those of his relatives by A.C.B. officials on 31.01.2009. Searches revealed that the A.O. possessed 15 properties i.e. twelve (12) sites in and around Medchal, Shamshabad, Gachibowli, three (3) houses in Sherlingampalli Mandal, Balanagar Mandal and Vidyanagar and 20 guntas of land at Miyapur and one acre land in Sherilingampalli, in his name as well as in the name of his wife and daughters, for documentary value of Rs. 83,26,120/-. Market value of the assets would be approximately Rs. 2.5 Crores. Moveable properties include thirty (30) tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs. 3 lakhs and 6 ½ kgs. of silver articles worth Rs. 30,000/-, One Hyundai Car worth Rs. 4 lakhs, one Honda Activa motor cycle worth Rs. 35,000/-, household articles worth Rs. 3 lakhs and Life Insurance policies worth Rs. 5 lakhs with premia paid. Thus total assets to the tune of Rs. 98,91,120/- were unearthed during the searches. Case is under investigation.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS WORTH OVER RS. 50 LAKHS BELONGING TO SRI UPPU RAMA MURTHY, ASST. MINES OFFICER, O/o THE DIRECTOR, MINES & GEOLOGY, A.P., HYDERABAD

The A.C.B. registered a case of disproportionate assets against Sri Uppu Rama Murthy, Asst. Miners Officer, O/o the Director, Mines & Geology, A.P. Hyderabad and conducted simultaneous searches at different places covering his office, residence at H.No. 11-6-298, Pochammabagh, Cherukuthotha Colony, Saroornagar, his native village Rayaparthy of Warangal District and his brother’s house at Khammam on 31.01.2009 which resulted in unearthing disproportionate assets worth over Rs. 50 lakhs. The assets include one double storied house at Saroornagr, Hyd, one house at Waddepally, Warangal District, one house at Rayaparthy, Warangal Dist ( total three houses), 1 house at Khammam and 15 acres agricultural land at Rayaparthy of Warangal District etc. Immovable properties are worth over Rs. 44,00,000/- (Rupees forty four lakhs only). The market value of these properties would be over Rs. 1 Crore. He is also found in possession of cash of Rs. 8,500/-, Gold ornaments 370 grms worth Rs. 3.94 lakhs, investments in LIC, PLI, ICICI Prudential, Chits etc, to the tune of Rs. 2,72,500/-, one Hero Honda Motor Cycle worth Rs. 40,000/-. Bank balances of Rs. 32,000/-, house hold articles in his house at Saroornagar to the tune of Rs. 1,48,000/- etc., all movable assets worth Rs. 8,95,000/- (Rupees eight lakhs and ninety five thousand only). The searches are in progress. The disproportionate assets in possession of the A.O. are to the tune of Rs. 50 lakhs. The case is under investigation.

SRI N.VENKATESWARLU, TAHSILDAR & SRI K. VEERA RAGHAVAREDDY, VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER OF BANAGANAPALLI (M), KURNOOL DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Kamireddy Veera Raghava Reddy (AO-2), Village Revenue Officer, Nandivaram (V) Banaganapalli (M) of Kurnool district was caught red handed in Out door Stadium, Kurnool town When he accepted a bribe amount of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand only) which was demanded by Sri N.Venkateswarlu (AO-1), Tahasildhar of Banaganapalli from the complainant Sri S.Chandra Sekhar Achari resident of Palukur Village on 30-1-2009 at 06-15 P.M fro doing the official favour of issuing No Objection Certificate for granting stone quarry lease for an extent of 23.5 acres of land, of the complainant. Chemical Test conducted on both hands, yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs.30,000/- was recovered from A.O-2 at his instance A.O-2 was arrested and produced before the ACB, Special Court, Hyderabad.

SRI KALESAVALI, C.I. SULLURPET, SK. ABDUL WAHEED, IWPC, D.KRISHNAMURTY, P.C. & SK. MUNEER BASHA, PC OF P.S. NELLORE DISTRICT IN ACB NET

On 30.1.2009 at 3 PM Sri D.Krishna Murthy, PC (AO-3), of Police Station, Nellore District was caught red handed at the shop Sri Jayaram Metal Stores at Bapuji Street of Sullurpet when he accepted the bribe amount of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) from the complainant Sri S.Suresh Kumar of Sullurpet on behalf of Kalesavali, C.I (A.O.-1). Sk. Abdul Waheed, Inspector Writer (Police Constable) (AO-2) and Sk. Muneer Basha, Police Constable (A.O-4) were also present along with Krishnamurthy at the time of trap. The amount was demanded for doing the favour of not booking a case against the complainant as stolen property receiver, as the complainant had earlier purchased a 2nd hand Scorpio Vehicle (stolen property) from a person who did not have valid records, for Rs. 3.5 Lakhs. The chemical Test conducted on both hands, yielded positive result and the bribe amount of Rs. 50,000/- was recovered from A.O-3 at his instance. All the four accused officers were arrested and are being produced before the ACB, Special Court, Nellore.

CHIEF ENGINEER, A.P. TRANSCO, VISAKHAPATNAM IN ACB NET.

Sri Kaluva Madhusudana Rao S/o. Narasimha Rao, age 58 years, Chief Engineer, A.P.Transco, Visakhapatnam was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his residence situated at Flat No.215, Santhinagar, Visakhapatnam at 08.40 hours on 30-01-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand) as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour i.e “to issue the exemption order pertaining to security deposit”. Tainted amount of Rs.10,000/- was recovered from the table drawer in the bedroom of the A.O. at his instance. Sri Kaluva Madhusudana Rao will be arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Special Judge for Trial of SPE & ACB Cases-Cum- III Additional District Court, Visakhapatnam.

SRI KASANAPALLI CHINNA NARAYANA, EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, MINOR IRRIGATION (WORKS) DIVISION, KURNOOL IN A.C.B. NET

Sri Kasanapalli Chinna Narayana, S/o Sri K.Pullanna, 53 years, Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation (Works) Division, Kurnool, Kurnool District was caught red handed at his office in Kurnool Town, when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) as bribe from the Complainant Sri B.Laxmikantha Reddy, S/o Mysoora Reddy, 42 years of Chakkiralla Village, Pathikonda Mandal, Kurnool District on 29.01.2009 at 2.45 P.M. for doing official favour of acceptance of agreement to entrust the work of “Flood damage repairs” to Chakkiralla village tank worth Rs. 4,61,858/- on nomination basis. Chemical Test conducted on his both hands, contents and inner linings of left side chest pocket of his shirt yielded positive results. The bribe amount of Rs. 5,000/- was recovered from his shirt pocket at his instance. The accused officer was arrested and is being produced before the Addl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

FORMER ASSISTANT ENGINEER,O/o M.P.D.O, GURUJALA, GUNTUR DISTRICT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

The Hon’ble Spl. Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B Cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri N.Krishna Prasad formerly Assistant Engineer, O/o M.P.D.O., Gurujala Guntur district and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default of payment of fine, he has to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable U/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988. The Spl. Judge further sentenced Sri N.Krishna Prasad to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and also to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence punishable under section 13(1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act,1988. Both the substantive sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, Sri N. krishana Prasad, formerly Assistant Engineer, O/o M.P.D.O., Gurujala, Guntur district was trapped by the ACB officials on 27.05.2004 when he demanded and accepted bribe of Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant Sri Challa Srinivasa Rao, S/o Venkaiah of Gurujala, Guntur district for doing the official favour of submitting the prepared bill along with M.Book to the Mandal Parishad Development Officer, Gurujala for effecting the payment of the bill amount for the contract work i.e. construction of protection wall from S.C.Hostel to Yerkula Nagaiah house in Gurujala village.

FORMER MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER, GUDUR, PRESENTLY WORKING AS SUPERINTENDENT IN THE O/O DIRECTOR OF TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING, A.P. HYDERABAD AND FORMER ASST. ENGINEER & TPBO (I/C), GUDUR MUNICIPALITY, NELLORE DISMISSED FROM SERVICE

Sri E.N.Rosappa, former Municipal Commissioner, Gudur, presently working as Superintendent in the Office of Director of Town & Country Planning, Hyderabad and Sri K.Subbarayudu, former AE & TPBO (I/c) Gudur Municipality, Nellore were dismissed from service by the concerned Departments, consequent to their conviction by the Trial Court in C.C.No. 13/2004. Earlier the above accused officers were trapped on 16.7.2003 when they demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs. 1,200/- & Rs. 1,000/- respectively from an advertising agency owner for giving permission for installation of publicity hoardings at six places in Gudur town.

SURPRISE CHECK CONDUCTED AT GOVT. SOCIAL WELFARE HOSTEL FOR BOYS AT NARSIPATNAM OF VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT

A Surprise Check was conducted on the Govt. Social Welfare Hostel for Boys at Narsipatnam of Visakhapatnam district on 28.01.2009. As many as 119 students were shown to be present in excess than the actual strength present in the hostel. Various other irregularities pertaining to Menu, Stock of provisions etc., were unearthed. The Surprise Check also revealed that the Official records were not maintained properly. Relevant Records like visiting Notes, Stock Register, Attendance Register etc., were seized for further verification.

SURPRISE CHECK CONDUCTED AT A.P.SOCIAL WELFARE RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL AND JUNIOR COLLEGE, GOLUGONDA OF VISAKHAPATNAM DISTRICT

A Surprise Check was conducted on the A.P.Social Welfare Residential School and Junior College, Golugonda of Visakhapatnam district on 28.01.2009. A shortage of 900 kgs rice and other irregularities pertaining to Menu, Stock of provisions etc., were unearthed. The Surprise Check also revealed that the Official records were not maintained properly. Relevant Records like visiting Notes, Stock Register, Attendance Register etc., were seized for further verification.

D.I.G. OF PRISONS, COASTAL ANDHRA REGION, RAJAHMUNDRY ARRESTED BY A.C.B. OFFICIALS FOR OFFERING BRIBE

On the complaint of Sri LoKendra Sharma, I.P.S., Director General and Inspector General of Prisons & Correctional Services, A.P, Hyderabad, that Sri B.Samuel Johnson, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Coastal Andhra Region, Rajahmundry, attempted to bribe him with a cash of Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty Thousand Rupees) on 27.01.2009 at about 3.00 P.M for facilitating his (B.Samuel Johnson’s) promotion as Additional Inspector General of Prisons, a case in Cr.No. 2/ACB-CR/2009, u/s 12 of P.C. Act, 1988 was registered and investigated into. The bribe amount of Rs. 50,000/-, which was placed on the table of Sri LoKendra Sharma, I.P.S., Director General and Inspector General of Prisons & Correctional Services, A.P., Hyderabad, by Sri B.Samuel Johnson, was seized by the Anti-Corruption Bureau Officials. Sri B.Samuel Johnson, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Coastal Andhra Region, Rajahmundry, was arrested on 27.01.2009 and is being produced before the Honorable Principal Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. ASST. COMMERCIAL TAX OFFICER & SR.ASST, SAROORNAGAR CIRCLE, HYDERABAD RURAL ARE IN A.C.B NET

Kumari. N.Usha Rani, A.C.T.O & Sri.P.Venkataiah, Sr.Asst,Saroornagar Circle, Hyderabad Rural were trapped by the A.C.B, officials at about 12:50 P.M on 28-01-2009 at their office O/o C.T.O., Saroornagar Circle situated at IIIrd floor,Manoranjan Complex, M.J.Road, Nampally, Hyderabad, when both of them demanded and the A.C.T.O accepted an amount of Rs.5,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant Sri.V.Yugender, for processing and issuing of V.A.T Certificate in favour of his business establishment M/S Water Aid System Ltd., Dilsuknagar.The chemical test conducted on the both hand fingers of the Kumari. N.Usha Rani, A.C.T.O. yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs.5,000/- was recovered at her instance from her table drawer. Both the A.C.T.O. & Sr.Asst are being arrested and will be produced before the Hon,ble Prl. Special Judge for S.P.E & A.C.B cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, TIRUPATI URBAN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY PUNISHED WITH WITHHOLDING OF TWO ANNUAL GRADE INCREMENTS IN AN ASSETS CASE UNDER VIOLATION OF CONDUCT RULES.

Sri G.Bhaskar, formerly Assistant Executive Engineer, Tirupati Urban Development Authority, Tirupati was punished with withholding of two annual grade increment with cumulative effect by the government following an enquiry by the departmental proceedings in A.C.B. disproportionate assets case, under violation of Conduct Rules, 1964. Earlier a disproportionate assets case was registered against him. Prosecution case is pending in the court of Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nellore. During the investigation the A.O purchased properties without obtaining prior permission of intimation to the competent authority and violated the A.P. Civil Services (Conduct) Rules 1964.

MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri M.Narsing Rao, former Junior Assistant O/o Town Planning Section. M.C.H. Circle-V, Khairatabad, Hyderabad has been dismissed from service by the Commissioner, GHMC, Hyderabad following his conviction by the Prl-Spl Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad in the trap case. Earlier, he was convicted and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 months U/s 7 and one year rigorous imprisonment U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1) (d) of P.C.Act. 1988 apart from Rs.200/- fine on both counts for having demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 200/- from the complainant, for doing an official favour for processing and issuing certified copies of sanctioned house plans.

SURPRISE CHECK CONDUCTED AT TRIBAL WELFARE HOSTEL FOR BOYS AT BASALAPETA OF VIZIANAGARAM TOWN

A Surprise Check was conducted on the Tribal Welfare Hostel for Boys at Basalapeta of Vizianagaram Town on 24.01.2009. As many as 43 students were shown to be present in excess than the actual strength present in the Hostel. Various other irregularities pertaining to Menu, Stock of provisions etc., were unearthed. The Surprise Check also revealed that the Official records were not maintained properly. Relevant Records like visiting Notes, Stock Register, Attendance Register etc., were seized for further verification.

RECORD KEEPER-CUM-VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, CHITTAPUR/ OFFICE OF THE TAHSILDAR, DUBBAKA, MEDAK DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Revalli Anjaneyulu, S/o.ilaiah, age 56 years, Record Keeper-Cum-Village Revenue Officer, Chittapur Office of the Tahsildar, Dubbaka, Medak District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his office at 12.50 hours on 23-01-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.800/- (Rupees Eight hundred ) as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour of handing over pahani copies to the complainant. Right hand fingers of Sri Revalli Anjaneyulu and the contact portion of the inner side of the table drawer on which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.800/- and an additional amount of Rs.100/- which he had demanded again after handing over pahani copies were also recovered from the office table drawer at his instance. Sri Revalli Anjaneyulu is being arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

A.C.B UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER 60.48 LAKHS BELONGS TO SRI J. VENKATA RAMI REDDY, DY. TAHSILDHAR IN OFFICE OF THE SPECIAL DEPUTY COLLECTOR, SRISAILAM PROJECT KURNOOL.

Simultaneous searches were conducted at various places in Kurnool town, by A.C.B. officials over the residential house of Sri Jogi Venkata Rami Reddy, Dy. Tahsildar (Land Acquisition) O/o Special Deputy Collector, Srisailam Project, Kurnool as well as the house of his relatives, on 23-01-2009. Searches resulted in unearthing of immovable assets, including 4 Residential Flats, 7 house sites in & around Kurnool town & agricultural land 1 acre & 30 cents, and one house site in Hyderabad. All the immovable assets are worth Rs.50.34 Lakhs, as per Documentary value.. Moveable properties worth Rs.10.13 Lakhs, include 4 bank Accounts in the name of A.O and his family members, with total bank balances of over Rs.1.15 Lakhs; 15 Total of Gold Jewellery and 2 ½ Kgs of Silver articles worth Rs.1.00 Lakh; Cash found at the residence is Rs.58,400/-; Insurance premium paid Rs.1.40 Lakhs for polices worth Rs.3.25 Lakhs; House hold articles worth Rs.2.90 lakhs; Maruthi Alto car worth Rs.2.70 lakhs & Honda Activa Bike Worth Rs.40,000/- thus total assets to the tune of Rs.60.47 Lakhs were unearthed during the searches. The market value of assets would be over Rs.2.00 Crores. Case is under investigation.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER,KOLUKULA (V) OF YERRAGONDIPADU (M) IN PRAKASAM DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Kilaru Vugra Narasimha Rao, village Revenue Officer, Kolukula ((v) and I/c of Ammannagudipadu (V) of Yerragondipadu (M) in Prakasam district was caught red handed at his residence in Yerragondipadu (M) when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only) as bribe, from the complainant Sri Veginati Venkata Kotaih R/o Ammannagudipadu on 22-01-2009 at 08-15 P.M, for doing the official favour of processing the title deed book and issueing of Pattadar Pass Book in the name of complainant, and also in the name of his brothers Chemical Test conducted on his both hands, and on paper which was trapped around the bribe amount also yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs.15,000/- was recovered at his instance. A.O. was arrested and produced before the ACB, Special Court, Nellore.

PENSION AND GRATUITY OF ASSISTANT SECRETARY TO GOVERNMENT PERMANENTLY WITHHELD IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Government of Andhra Pradesh issued orders withholding the pension and gratuity in full of Sri P.Bhupathi Rao, former Assistant Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, A.P., Secretariat, Hyderabad permanently, as he was convicted in a trap case by the Prl.Spl.Judge for SPE & ACB cases, Hyderabad. Earlier, the Assistant Secretary was trapped by ACB officials on 12-8-1999 when he demanded a bribe of Rs.1,000/- i.e., 500/- for himself and Rs.500/- fro an ASO and accepted the bribe of Rs.1000/- through the ASO from a Junior Assistant of Govt. High School, Anantapur Town for processing his file relating to regularization of service seniority.

MANDAL PARISHAD DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, PILER OF CHITTOOR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Vedagiri Subramanyam Naidu, Office Superintendent holding full additional charge as Mandal Parishad Development Officer, piler of Chittoor District was caught red handed at APSRTC Bus Stand,Piler, when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees three thousand only) as bribe from the complainant Sri Poojari Raghunadha of piler on 21-01-09 at 17-55 P.M for doing official favour of sanctioning bill and getting the cheques issued towards their labour charges for mango plantation work done by complainant and his group workers under N.R.E.G.Scheme. Chemical Test conducted on both his hands, yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs.3,000/- was recovered from his right side rear pocket of trouser at his instance. A.O. is being arrested and produced before the ACB, Special Court, Nellore.

BHEEMA KRISHNA MURTHY, ZONAL OFFICER, ZONE-V,A.P. SOCIAL WELFARE RESIDENTIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION SOCIETY, WARANGAL IN ACB NET

Sri Bheema Drishna Murthy, S/o Janakiramaiah, age 48 years, Zonal Officer, Zone-V,A.P. Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society, Warangal was caught red handed by the ACB Officials near Dr.V.Ramesh, Skin Hospital at Ramnagar, Hanamakonda in the late hours on 21-01-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand) as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour of sending the report in favour of the complainant to Secretary,A.P. Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society, Hyderabad” pertaining to a Departmental Enquiry. The A.O. instructed the complainant to keep the bribe amount in his hand kerchief which the A.O.kept in his shirt pocket .Both hand fingers and inner lining of hand kerchief yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. The tainted amount of Rs.20,000/- was recovered from the Municipal drain into which the A.O.threw the tainted amount on finding the A.C.B. party closing on him. Sri Bheema Krishna Murthy was arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FISHERIES DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Sri C.Hemachandra Murthy, former Asst,Directror of Fisheries , Nalgonda district was dismissed from service by the Commissioner of Fisheries, AP, Hyderabad, in view of his conviction by the Addl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad , and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.2000/- and in default to suffer 3 months simple imprisonment, each for the offences under section 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of the P.c. Act,1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier the said Assistant Director was trapped by the officials of Anti- Corruption Bureau on 19-11-2002 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.5,000/- from the President of Bollepally Fishermen Co-Op. Society, for doing officials favour of admitting 25 persons as members in the said society.

PROJECT DIRECTOR, WOMEN AND CHILD WELFARE DEPARTMENT, ELURU, WEST GODAVARI DISTRICT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE.

Smt V.Venkata Lakshmi, project Director, women & Child Welfare Department, Eluru, West Godavari was convicted and to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for period of 3 months for the offence u/s 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and also to undergo simple imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to suffer simple imprisonment for 3 months for the offence u/s 13(1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of the PC Act,1988. Both the substantive sentences shall run concurrently. Earlier Smt V.Venkata Lakshmi, project Director, Women & Child Welfare Department, Eluru was trapped by the officials of A.C.B. on 17-1-2004 at her office when she demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.10,000/- from Sri A.Mohana purushottama Rao, C/o Veni Kirana General Stoires, Chitalapudi Village and Mandal, West Godavari district for showing the official favour of issuing the work order and also placing indent for supply of broken wheat to 9 project Offices in the district.

ADDL. ASST. ENGINEER, A.P.E.P.D.C.L., DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

Sri N.V.Ramana Murthy, Addl. Asst. Engineer, Operation, A.P.E.P.D.C.L., Pedagantyada, Visakhapatnam District has been dismissed from service by the Government of Andhra Pradesh following his conviction by the Special Judge for A.C.B Cases, Visakhapatnam. Earlier, Sri N.V.Ramana Murthy was trapped on 19.5.2001 by officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 2,000/- for showing the official favour of giving technical sanction and releasing of power supply for M/s Weld Tech PVC Manufacturing Unit of the complainant.

A.C.B. UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER RS. 1.90 CRORES BELONGING TO SRI K.RAMANJANEYULU, DY. EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, (Q.C) HLC DIVN. IRRIGATION DEPT.,OF ANANTAPUR DIST.

Simultaneous searches were conducted at various places in Anantapur Town, Bommanhal (M) of Anantapur, by A.C.B. officials, over the residential house of Sri K.Ramanjaneyulu, Deputy Executive Engineer (Q.C) H.L.C.Divn. Irrigation Dept. of Anantapur, Anantapur District and his office as well as the house of his relatives, on 21.01.2009. Searches resulted in unearthing of immovable assets, including 3 house sites around Anantapur Town, 4 houses in and around Anantapur Town, 7 acres of land in Nemakallu (V), all worth Rs. 85.38 lakhs as per documentary value. Apart from above assets Sale agreement for another house for Rs. 30.50 lakhs in Anantapur town was also found. Moveable properties worth Rs. 15.52 lakhs, include 9 bank balances in the name of A.O. and his family members containing deposits worth Rs. 77,000/-; 22 tolas of gold worth Rs. 1.10 lakhs & 3 kgs of Silver articles worth Rs. 1.05 lakhs; Cash found at residence is Rs. 61,000/-; Insurance premium paid is Rs. 2.50 lakhs for 7 policies worth Rs. 6 lakhs; House hold articles worth Rs. 4.75 lakhs; Maruthi Alto car worth Rs. 3.20 lakhs, 3 two-wheeler bikes – T.V.S.Victor GS Rs. 45,000/-, Scooty Rs. 24,000/- & Hero Honda worth Rs. 40,000/- were also found. Thus, total assets to the tune of Rs. 1.90 Crores were unearthed during the searches. The market value of assets would be over Rs. 3.00 Crores. Case is under investigation.

ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU UNEARTHS ASSETS WORTH OVER RUPEES ONE CRORE BELONGING TO SRI NARALA SIVA CHARAN, MOTOR VEHICLE INSPECTOR, ARMOOR, NIZAMABAD DISTRICT

Simultaneous searches were conducted by ACB Officials over the Residential Houses of Sri Narala Siva Charan, S/o Hari Narayana, age 58 years, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Armoor, Nizamabad district on 20.01.2009 at Chikkadpally, Hyderabad and Armoor of Nizamabad district and his relatives residences at Barkatpura, Himayathnagar of Hyderabad, Nizamabad Town, Armoor, Gondaram Village of Nizamabad district. Searches resulted in unearthing assets worth over Rupees One Crore. The total assets include (3) three Flats in different places at Barkatpura, Himayathnagar and Banjarahills, (1) One three storied Building in Chikkadpally of Hyderabad and One building at Nizamabad, 16 acres of land in Nizamabad Mandal, (3) three vehicles i.e. Scorpio Car, Zen Car and Ambassador Car, Gold weighing 100 tulas W/Rs. 10 lakhs, LIC premia paid Rs. 4,40,000/-, Household articles worth Rs. 2,50,000/- and Net Cash of Rs. 11,85,270/-. The market value of the Immovable Assets unearthed would be worth over Rs. 5 Crores. Case is under investigation.

MOHAMMAD YUSUF, REVENUE INSPECTOR, OFFICE OF THE TAHASILDAR, KARIMNAGAR IN ACB NET

Sri Mohammad Yusuf, S/o Late Shaik Dade, age 29 years, Revenue Inspector, Office of the Tahsildar, Karimnagar was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his residence situated at Shivaji Nagar, Karimnagar at 0815 hours on 19.01.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand) as bribe from the Complainant for doing official favour of submitting a detailed report along the location Sketch regarding the disputed land that belongs to the complainant to Tahsildar, Karimnagar. Both hand fingers and inner lining of left side pocket of the shorts of Sri Mohammad Yusuf when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 10,000/- was recovered from the left side pocket of the shorts worn by of Sri Mohammad Yusuf at his instance. Sri Mohammad Yusuf has been arrested and is being produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

KUMMARI BALAKISHAN, TAHSILDAR, MAHA MUTHARAM MANDAL, KARIMNAGAR DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Kummari Balakishan, S/o Lingaiah, age 55 years, Tahasildar, Maha Mutharam Mandal, Karimnagar District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his residence at Karimnagar at 0715 hours on 19.01.2009 when he demanded ad accepted Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand) as bribe from the Complainant for doing the official favour of issuing proceedings for appointing the complainant as Village Servant (Sunkari). Both hand fingers and inner lining of right side pant pocket of Sri Kummari Balakishan when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 10,000/- was recovered from the right side pant pocket of Sri Kummari Balakishan at his instance. Sri Kummari Balakishan is being arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, LALGADI MALAKPET VILLAGE, SHAMIRPET MANDAL, R.R.DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Sudham Vijay Kumar, S/o Late S.R.Swamy, age 45 years, Village Revenue Officer, Lalgadi, Malakpet Village, Shamirpet Mandal, R.R.District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. Officials at his Residence at Malavada, Boinapally, Secunderabad at 8.55 A.M. on 17.1.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 2,000/-(Rupees Two thousand only) as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour of changing the names in the ROR pertaining to the complainant. Right hand fingers of Sri Sudham Vijay Kumar and the portion of the cloth spread on the tea poi which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 2,000/- was recovered from the top of the tea poi at the instance of Sri Sudham Vijay Kumar. Sri Sudham Vijay Kumar is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

FORMER SUB-ENGINEER & I/C.A.E. APCPDCL, RODDAM (M), ANANTAPUR DISTRICT DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE

Sri M.S.Vistor, former Sub-Engineer, I/c A.E.(Oprn), A.P. Central Power Distribution Company Ltd., Roddam Mandal, Anantapur district has been dismissed from service by the Government following his conviction by the Addl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Earlier, Sri M.S.Vistor, former Sub-Engineer, I/c A.E.(Oprn), A.P.C.P.D.C.L, Roddam (M), Anantapur district was trapped by the ACB officials on 10.6.2005, when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 8,500/- from the complainant for doing the official favour of processing his application and for taking necessary steps, in giving power supply to the motor fixed to the bore well, in his agricultural land.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ONCOLOGY, S.V.R.R.G.G.HOSPITAL, TIRUPATI, CHITTOOR DISTRICT DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE

Dr. K.V.Raghavaiah, Associate Professor and Incharge Head of the Department of Oncology. S.V.R.R.Govt. Hospital, Tirupati, Chittoor district was dismissed from service by the Government following his conviction by the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore, who sentenced him to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 3,000/-. Earlier, Dr. K.V.Raghavaiah was trapped by ACB Officials on 08.03.2004 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1,000/- from the complainant for doing the official favour of providing speedy treatment to his mother who was suffering from oral cancer.

ASST. CITY PLANNER, L.B.NAGAR CIRCLE, O/o THE DY. COMMISSIONER, G.H.M.C., SAROORNAGAR IS IN A.C.B. NET

Sri A.Jalandhar Reddy, Asst. City Planner, L.B.Nagar Circle O/o the Dy. Commissioner, G.H.M.C., Saroornagar was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at about 3.35 P.M. on 16.01.2009 at his office, when he demanded and accepted Rs. 10,000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant Sri P.Ramesh Naidu for processing and issuing permission for the construction of his building. The phenolphthalein test conducted on the both hand fingers of the A.O. and the inner flaps of left side pant pocket yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 10,000/- was recovered from the left side pant pocket of the A.O. The relevant file has been seized from the office of the A.O.A.O. is being arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Prl. Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

MANDAL REVENUE OFFICER, GOLCONDA IS IN A.C.B. NET

Smt. N.Sunanda, M.R.O., Golconda was caught red handed by the A.C.B. Officials at about 4.40 P.M. on 12.01.2009 at her office, Vijayanagar Colony, Hyderabad, when she demanded and accepted Rs. 5000/- as illegal gratification from the complainant Sri Jyothi Prasad for issuing pahani copies pertaining to his land situated at Langar House. A chemical test conducted on the right hand fingers of the A.O. yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 5000/- was recovered at the instance of A.O. A.O. is being arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Prl. Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

FORMER LINE INSPECTOR, PEDANA, APSPDCL, VIJAYAWADA, KRISHNA DISTRICT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE

The Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri K.Subba Rao, formerly Lineman of A.P.S.P.D.C.L., Pedana, Krishna District. He sentenced the accused officer to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 1 year and also to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000/- and in default of payment of fine amount to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of 3 months, each for the offences under section 7 & 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, Sri K.Subba Rao was trapped by the officials of the ACB on 26.8.2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 600/- from Sri T.Kondaiah of Pedana for showing the official favour of preparing estimate and processing the application for electric service meter connection to his house.

FORMER MANDAL DEPUTY SURVEYOR, KALIDINDI MANDAL, KRISHNA DISTRICT CONVICTED IN ACB TRAP CASE

The Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada convicted Sri Gurandapalli Aseervadam, formerly Mandal Deputy Surveyor, Office of the Tahsildar, Kalindindi Mandal, Krishna District. He sentenced the accused officer to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of 1 year and also to pay a fine of Rs. 1,000/- and in default of payment of fine amount, to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of 3 months, each for the offences under section 7 & 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, Sri Gurandapalli Aseervadam, formerly Mandal Deputy Surveyor was trapped by the officials of the ACB on 18.3.2004 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1,000/- from Sri Gorthi Radha Krishna, for showing the official favour of surveying his land.

SUPERINTENDENT AND SENIOR ASSISTANT CONVICTED IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

Sri S.RadhaKrishna Murthy, former Superintendent and Sri K.Ramakrishna Rao, former Senior Assistant, O/o Executive Engineer, Dummugudem Project, Division-1, Khammam have been convicted by the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/- and in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for one month for the offence under section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Special Judge further sentenced the accused officers to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/- for the offence under section 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and in default, to suffer one month simple imprisonment. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. Earlier, they were trapped by the officials of the ACB on 18.10.2002 when the Superintendent demanded a bribe amount of Rs. 1,500/- from the complainant for processing the medical reimbursement bill and accepted the same through the Senior Assistant.

ASSISTANT ENGINEER, GOWTHAMI RIGHT BANK UPPER SECTION, KOTHAPETA, EAST GODAVARI DISTRICT IN ACB NET

Sri Geddam Suresh Kumar, Assistant Engineer, Gowthami Right Bank upper section, Kothapeta, East Godavari District was trapped by the ACB Officials of Rajahmundry Range, Rajahmundry on 09.01.2009 at 1.15 P.M. when he further demanded and accepted bribe amount of Rs. 27,000/- (Twenty Seven thousand only) from the complainant Sri Guthula Srinivasa Rao S/o Ammanna, age 32 years, C/Settibalija, President of Sri Rama C.C.S. Society and Sri Bangaru Papamma Devastanam, Ravulapalem, East Godavari District for showing official favour of processing the petition and issuing favorable orders by the Executive Engineer for removing the sand and Banda Matti from the patta lands situated in Ubalanka of the Sri Rama C.C.S. Society, Ravulapalem. The Chemial test conducted on both hand fingers of the A.O. yielded positive result and inner lining of wearing left side pant pocket of A.O. yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs. 25,000/- was recovered from the left side pant pocket of the A.O. and remaining Rs. 2000/- was recovered from the shirt pocket of Sri Eswara Rao Retd. I.C. Assistant, who is accompanying with the A.O. by one of the mediator and tallied with numbers noted in the pre-trap proceedings. Sri Geddam Suresh Kumar, S/o Kurma Rao, age 52 years, Assistant engineer, Gowthami Right Bank Upper Section, Kothapeta, East Godavari District is arrested on 09.01.2009 and being produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge for ACB and SPE Cases, Vijayawada.

VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, MALLELA VILLAGE, TIRUVURU , KRISHNA DIST. IN ACB NET

On 7.1.2009 at 18.15 Hrs. Sri Aluri Satyanarayana, S/o Late Narasimha Rao, Village Revenue Officer, Mallela (V), Tiruvuru Mandal, Krishna Dist. was trapped by ACB Officials, Vijayawada Range at his residence in Polisettipadu Village when he further demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs. 2500/- from the Complt. Sri Loakm Venu Babu, S/o Siva Sankar, 44 yrs, Advocate, Gannavaram, Krishana Dist. for showing official favour for processing the petition of the complt. For issuing pattadar pass book and title deed for the land extent of 9.99 acres at Mallela Village. The Chemical test conducted on the both hand fingers of the Accused Officer yielded positive result. The accused officer received the bribe amount from the complt. With his right hand, counted with his both hands and kept the amount on the parapet wall and covered the same with Pattadar Pass Books Issue Register. The tainted currency of Rs. 2500/- was recovered from the under neath the Pattadar Pass Book Issue Register. The serial numbers of the recovered currency notes were tallied with the numbers noted in the pre trap proceedings. The Accused Officer was arrested on 7.1.20009 and will be produced before the Honourable Court of Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada on 8.1.2009.

JUNIOR ASSISTANT CONVICTED IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

The Principal Special Judge for S.P.E. & A.C.B. Cases, Hyderabad convicted Sri R.Ravikant, former Junior Assistant, Office of the Dy. Educational Officer, Ameerpet Mandal, Hyderabad and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/- for the offence U/s 7 of P.C. Act, 1988 and in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for two months. The Prl. Spl. Judge also sentenced the Accused Officer to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs. 500/- for the offence U/s 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of P.C. Act, 1988 and in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for three months. Both the sentences were ordered to run concurrently. The Prl. Spl. Judge further ordered that the seized amount of Rs. 6750/- from A.O. on the date of trap shall be confiscated to the State and shall be deposited into the Government account. Earlier he was trapped by the A.C.B Officials on 5.7.2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1000/- from the complainant in order to process the application of Sri Gnana Saraswathi School, S.R.Nagar, Hyderabad and to forward it to the D.E.O., Hyderabad district through Dy. E.O., Ameerpet Mandal, Hyderabad for issue of new T.C.books etc.

MANDAL REVENUE INSEPCTOR DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

Sri N.Sanyasayya Setty, Mandal Revenue Inspector, Office of the Mandal Revenue Office, Dumbriguda Mandal, Visakhapathnam District has been dismissed from service by the Government of Andhra Pradesh following his conviction by the Special Judge for A.C.B., Cases, Visakhapatnam. Earlier, N.Sanyasayya Setty was trapped on 12.2.2004 by Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 500/- for doing the official favour of conducting enquiry, processing and giving an enquiry report to M.R.O. for issuing legal heir certificate in favour of complainant’s aunt.

ADDITIONAL ASSISTANT ENGINEER, DISMISSED FROM SERVICE IN ACB TRAP CASE

Sri N.Thirumala Chary, former Additional Assistant Engineer (Operation), NPDCL, Khammam has been dismissed from service by the Department following his conviction by the Prl. Spl. Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Earlier, he was trapped by the officials of the ACB on 2.5.2003 when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 1,500/- from the complainant for restoring agricultural service connection to his lands.

SENIOR ASSISTANT/AUDITOR, PAY & ACCOUNTS OFFICE, NIRMAL, ADILABAD DISTRICT IN A.C.B. NET

Sri Manikya Rao Hari Krishna, S/o Gnaneshwar, age: 32 years, Senior Assistant/Auditor, Pay & Accounts Office, Nirmal, Adilabad District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. Officials in the late hours on 5.1.2009 at his office when he demanded and accepted Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred ) as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour of processing and forwarding the final bill pertaining to the construction work of ZP Secondary School, Deepaiguda (V), Jainath Mandal undertaken by the complainant”.Both hand fingers of Sri Manikya Rao Hari Krishna and the register in which the tainted currency was kept yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 1500/- was recovered from the register at the instance of Sri Manikya Rao Hari Krishna. Sri Manikya Rao Hari Krishna was arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad. Case is under investigation.

Y.JITHENDER RAJ, MANDAL REVENUE INSPECTOR, DICHPALLI AND P.SAILU, VILLAGE REVENUE OFFICER, GHANPUR, NIZAMABAD DISTRICT IN ACB NET.

Sri Y.Jithender Raj, S/o. Solomon Raj (AO-1), age 41 years, Mandal Revenue Inspector, Dichpalli, Nizamabad District was caught red handed by the ACB Officials at his office at 12.30 p.m. on 03-01-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand) through Sri P.Sailu s/o. Late Lingaiah (AO-2), age 34 years, Village Revenue Officer, Ghanpur as bribe from the complainant for doing official favour i.e. “to hand over the Pattadar passbook Title Deed and proceeding of the M.R.O.”Both hand fingers of Sri P.Sailu (AO-2) and inner portion of plastic cover in which the tainted currency was kept when subjected to chemical test yielded positive result. Tainted amount of Rs.3,000/- was recovered from the plastic cover of Sri P.Sailu (AO-2) at his instance. Sri Y.Jithender Raj (AO-1) absconded from the scene of office. Sri P.Sailu (AO-2) was arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.

SANITARY INSPECTOR, CIRCLE NO.9, G.H.M.C., HYDERABAD IN ACB NET

Sri K.Farhatullah Khan, age 57 years, Sanitary Inspector, Ward No. 1D, Circle No. 9, G.H.M.C., Musheerabad, Hyderabad was caught red handed at his office, when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees twelve Thousand) as bribe from the Complainant on 03.01.2009 at 3.00 P.M. for doing official favour of sanctioning sanitary contract bills for the month of September, 2008 pertaining to the Complainant Sri C.Prabhakar. Chemical Test conducted on his both hands and shirt pocket of A.O. yielded positive result and bribe amount of Rs. 12,000/- was recovered from the right side shirt pocket of the accused officer at his instance. The accused officer was arrested and is being produced before the Special Court for A.C.B Cases, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

PRINCIPAL AND TWO SENIOR ASSISTANTS OF GOVT. I.T.I, (MINORITY), KADAPA, PUNISHED IN ACB CASE

Ari Syed Abdul Khaleel, Principal, Government I.T.I. (Minorities), Kadapa has been awarded punishment of withholding of pension and gratuity in full permanently by the Government and S/Sri T.V.Narayana, Senior Assistant-cum-storekeeper and A.Ramakrishna Rao, Senior Assistant of Government I.T.I. (Minorities), Kadapa were also dismissed from service by the Government following their conviction by the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nellore, who sentenced them to undergo one year simple imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 4,000/- each. Earlier, a surprise check was conducted by this Bureau from 19.6.1998 to 22.6.1998 over the material stores of the Govt. I.T.I. for Minorities, Kadapa and grave irregularities were found; The irregularities included purchase of huge quantity of non-specified materials without requisition from or consultation with training wing at exorbitant rates causing wrongful loss to the tune of Rs. 18,88,515/- to the Government exchequer and pecuniary advantage to themselves. /P>

Sri Vemula Ram Mohan Rao, S/o. Laxminarsaiah, age 46 years, Superintendent, Legal Lease & Civil Section, Holding Additional Charge of Accounts Section of Sri Laxminarsimha Swamy Devasthanam, Yadagiri Gutta, Nalgonda District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at his Office at 12.25 P.M. on 3-1-2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs.1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hindered ) as bribe from the complainant fro doing an official favour of allowing the complainant to keep the stock of dry coconuts in the old TTD Choultry which is under the control of Sri Laxminarsimha Swamy Devasthanam”.Right hand fingers and the left side shirt pocket of Sri Vemula Ram Mohan Rao which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs.1,500/- was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of Sri Vemula Ram Mohan Rao at his instance.Sri Vemula Ram Mohan Rao is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.Case is under investigation.

REGISTRATION DEPT. OFFICIAL CONVICTED IN A.C.B. TRAP CASE

The Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad convicted Sri B.Purushotham Rao, former Senior Assistant/Temporary Joint-Sub-Registrar, Sangareddy, camp at Patancheru, Medak district and sentenced him to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs. 300/- and in default, to suffer one month simple imprisonment, each, for the offences punishable under sections 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences of imprisonment were ordered to run concurrently. The Special Judge also convicted Sri M.Vinay Sagar, a private person and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6 months and to pay a fine of Rs. 100/- and in default, to suffer 15 days simple imprisonment u/s 12 of P.C. Act 1988. Earlier, the Senior Asst. was trapped on 10.10.2002 by officials of the A.C.B when he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs. 600/- from the complainant for showing official favour of delivering the registered document. Subsequently, he handed over the said bribe amount to his agent the second accused Vinay Sagar for safe custody.

Sri Guruduwar Susheel Kumar, S/o Gangaram, age 42 years, Deputy Executive Engineer, I/c Executive Engineer, I & CAD Division –II, G.V.C.-I, Sriramsagar Project, Pochampadu, Nizamabad District was caught red handed by the A.C.B. officials at his office at 12.15 P.M. on 02.01.2009 when he demanded and accepted Rs. 7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour i.e. “ to forward the bill to Accounts Section along with work order for sanction of Rupees 1 Lakh in respect of work done by complainant “. Right hand fingers and inner flap of the left side shirt pocket of Sri Guruduwar Susheel Kumar which came into contact with the tainted currency yielded positive result when subjected to chemical test. Tainted amount of Rs. 7000/- was recovered from the left side shirt pocket of Sri Guruduwar Susheel Kumar at his instance. Sri Guruduwar Susheel Kumar is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad.Case is under investigation.
