AP Online facilitates online bill payments for utilities like
electricity bill, water bill, telephone bill, etc. These services can be
availed of by filling online application forms and submitting them to the GoAP
organization providing the utility. Attachments may have to be submitted along
with the application form for the purpose of governmental verifications.
Since the service involves payment, the ecitizen has to possess
a credit card (smart cards and e-cheques will be enabled in the future). The
payment of the service charge via internet is handled by a secure payment
processing software (also called the payment gateway) which accepts payment
from the citizen and gives him a receipt as proof.
The citizen also has a choice of submitting the application through an offline
delivery channel (a government counter or a kiosk) which accepts all modes of
payments (cheque, DD, cash and credit card).
